I'm looking to buy a new 9 foot table, was considering a
gold grome or Diamond pro, are these the best ones out
there also is there a rubber option with the manufactures?
If so which rubber should i use I hear about something called
accu fast i think ? or k66 k55 ? kind of clueless on that

Either the Brunswick Gold Crown or Diamond Pro are a good choice among the best tournament grade tables available. There are others but these 2 tend to be the most popular. Forget about cushion options - the manufacturer has figured out what works best for their table.

I've got a Gold Crown IV. I went from a Connelly to the Crown when the IV's came out. The Diamonds are ok...But my choice is Gold Crown. I have always liked the classic look of the Gold Crown tables and they have changed very little over the years. I recommend Brunswick. Dartman is right...Don't worry about cushions...You will get the best there is.

Those are the best. I have a Gold Crown IV, and I have been very happy with it. I play on the Diamond pro-ams at Planet 9-ball, and they are very good also. I have never played on a Diamond pro, but it looks like a nice table. I love the Gold Crowns though. They are an American classic, and they look and play the way a table should. Either way it's hard to go wrong.

I look at the resale value of a table, that helps me decide how good it really is. Who has more used tables on the market for sale...Brunswick or Diamond? If it's hard to find used Diamond's to buy, maybe that's because once they're bought, they're seldom ever sold again, which means what? That the waiting list is high for a Diamond, whereas you can easily find GC's for sale used. Think about it!

Brunswick's been doin it since 1845. Diamond is a good table but the new kid on the block. I'm stickin with Brunswick and my Gold Crown.

Diamond plays better. And there made in the USA.

How about some specifics - Diamond vs. Brunswick

1. What is it about playability that makes one more preferred?

2. What is it about style or construction that makes one more preferred?

Note- this is about the quality and playability of the tables themselves, NOT how long a company has been in business or where the tables are made.

If someone wants to state something is "best" then stand behind your statement with some facts.

I think they both play great. I just prefer gold crowns. I play on diamonds all the time, and I have no complaints at all. I don't think you can say one plays "better" than the other. It's just what you prefer.

I think Diamonds are better:
1-Solid wood rail caps with Diamond Wood tops
2-no comparsion with pockets
3-you can choose pocket opening sizes on Diamonds
4-neoprene facing
5-Artemis cushions
6-leveling system at leg levelors and under slates
7- 4 bolts per Rail

Although, Diamond Brazilian slate is thicker than Brunswick's, I do like the slate Bruns has been using in recent years. But other than that Brunswick has better style, but that's only my opinion.

Agreed. Both are great playing tables. Just seems there's so many "whats the best" type posts on this forum and people don't seem to realize there's a difference between "preference" and "best" and fail to back up there remarks. Good post btw - rep for you.

This might be imagined, but I find that the gold crowns play "looser" than the diamond. The diamond 9' tables I play on reguarly all have disgustingly small pockets to the point that I'm not sure there is value in playing on equipment that tight.

Gold Crown IV's play bad imo. The cushions are cheap and have a funny angle.
Diamond or Gabriel's for me if you can't find used GC I or II.

I thought the cushions/angle (k55 rubber) was the same on all gold crowns. They all seem to play pretty much the same to me if they are set up right. I could be wrong, as I do drink when I play.
