Best Cloth Color

observations on simonis "camel"

Traditional Green is my favorite but I like Tan and Electric Blue too.

It has been explained to me that the new simonis electric blue is the easiest on the eyes, with the camel/tan colors second and traditional green third.

a word of caution of simonis camel as I have experienced this: The camel in their color chart may not be the camel you actually receive. I did this approximately 7 months ago, replacing camel for camel and even though my new cloth had the same part number, the actual dye batch was a lighter shade.

this usually is not a big deal, however when I also had the walls in my home pool room color matched to the orginal camel, it was frustrating:(

I have Simonis "Tournament Blue" on my home table, I really like the contrast of the cloth and the relationship to the balls. The "Electric Blue" and "Tourny Blue" are very similar, but there is a slight difference in the shades.

What color chalk do you guys use? Like blue on blue, or green on green? My friend has blue simonis on his diamond and uses brown chalk. If anyone has ever seen this combination it really looks terrible. I know most of the nicer rooms provide you with chalk to match the table.

????

the table at one of my home bar table has red cloth will this effect shooting or lighting???? first time on it! green used every where else

a lighter coloured cloth will have a smoother effect on the eyes while playing and also will brighten up the place while a darker coloured cloth will make it seem more dim thus playing will be more dull..
a bright coloured cloth will give you hell so don't ever use! :p

i used to have light green cloth with dim lights but the place looks fine yet when i changed to a dark blue cloth with much brighter lighting, the place looks darker -.-"
bright yellow cloth on super powered lighting will make it seem like your playing pool out in the sun!

Simonis produces a cloth color called tournament blue, which is said to give the most visibility of all the balls. Other than that I like the Sand/Camel colors, they really look nice once installed.

That camel color is impressive. Does anyone have a picture of a table with the grey? I played on an electric blue, and it seems just too bright. Maybe I'll shoot on it a few more times, and see if i can get used to it.

My vote goes to electric blue

I went from burgundy to electric blue. The difference they say is daylight and dark.

Colors

Try "red" cloth with a "black" light over the table...I played in a bar in Vegas that had this setup and we could not FIND the 3 ball!!!

Brunswick bowling alleys used to have a Salmon/orange colored cloth and then later they had a Gold color. Then they finally went to the standard green.
In 3 cushion billiards, they used a standard green then went to a
blue /green color for the cushions. Nice way to highlight the balls when they are near the rails. Even playing on the "English" green like the snooker tables has a "seeable" color, Though it looks weird when you first put it on a regular pool table.

billiard cloth

i do like the sand camel color cloth to me it is by all means a wonderful color for a pool table:)

thanks

Well, I had an opportunity to shoot on the camel, grey, blue and green Simonis the past 2 days, and I settled for the Simions 860 green. It in my opinion had the better clarity between ball and cloth. It is however alot faster then the felt that I am using, and will take some getting used to. I'm saddened that it will take a couple of weeks to get it covered, but the wait should be worth it. Thank you all for your opinions and advice. It made things come together.

I Love The Camel Color On Any Table. It Is Without A Doubt My Favorite. The Best Combo Is A Diamond Table With Camel On It. The Contrast Between The Rail Color And The Felt Color Is Awesome.

The Other Nice Part About The Camel Cloth, Is You Can Use The Tan Colored Chalk, Which Doesn't Discolor A Cue Like The Blue Or Green Does.
