Hi all,

I have a cheap Cuetec ($60), Im playing with this cue since 2002, and I think that is time to change :grin-square:

Im from Costa Rica, in my country the cues are pretty expensive, so, i will buy the cue in cuestore.com or seyberts.com, only this two online stores I know.

I have a mess with the materials, fiberglass, maple or grapith..

Today I saw this cues, I like them, but I dont know if are a good cues, or maybe for the same money I could find anything better.

I really apreciatte the help, because in this thing, Im a NOOB.

Thanks!

Not that theres anything wrong with the cues that you posted but for the price, if you're patient and keep your eyes pealed, you most likely will find something a little closer to a custom cue in the Wanted/For Sale forum here.

Trying to get a cue from outside Costa Rica can be a challenge. I would stick with a company willing to ship there. There is a good chance the cue won't make it through the mail. Would a private party be willing to refund if the cue doesn't get delivered. If you can describe what you like in a cue that would help. I know the bartender I gave my hiking boots to was very gratefull since it was so hard to get many products from outside CR., I didn't pay for another drink in that bar. Thank god they now import Lizano to bad I can't get Imperial in the US.

If DHL or FedEx ships to Costa Rica, I think there would be no problem with us, even for a full refund if the cue isn't delivered as the courier is answerable to me, as they are in all these years. I have good relationship with both top couriers for being loyal to them. :) Trouble is, we don't have any cues available for US$300 - shipped. If it is $300 plus shipping, I might be able to help you out sincerely for you to have a true custom plain jane cue at least.

i'd go with either of the 2 lucasi cues if you're dead set on 'em. if not i'd buy a used joss from someone here on az or if you don't mind spending a little more you could spend a cool 400 on a gilbert j/b. the gilbert will hands down play better than any production cue you're going to find online.

What are other players using in CR and are they warping due to the high humidity. The fiberglass wrap on the Cuetec might be a good thing where you are located. If you wanted a custom you might try one of the better Philippine cue makers. Your cue would be made in a similar climate and less likely to warp.

Either

Chuck Starky first choice for the money hands down! Chuck is a great guy and is a member of this forum - it would be worth your time to get in touch with him and at least ask him about shipping to that part of the world.

Having said that- Pechauer as the man said is totaly underated - I have hit with more then a few pechauers and everyone hit good - even the low end ones

either of these 2 would be hands down better then any production cue

good luck

Chuck

You can contact Chuck on this forum his handle is desi2960 he is selling a cue in the buy/sell thread now

Hi guys!

Thanks to all for the answers.

Two weeks ago, I bought a Predator Jump Air in Seyberts. The shipping from Seyberts was excellent! Im pretty happy with the service.

After this purchase, I bought a McDermott Massey Master - M202.

A lot of users here

probably look down their noses at mcDermott a little. They don't make a bad cue, it just that its the most common brand of cue in the US. They make a solid cue, and if you want something that looks nice and plays nice that's right on par with a Lucasi, Cutec, or Viking.

There are a few cues that you could get at a place like Seyberts that might play a bit better, but they would be more of the "plain jane" or sneaky pete types. If you want something fancier that is a solid playing cue, and carries a good guarantee I think you picked a good cue.

If for whatever reason, you don't like the cue, Seyberts has a pretty good return policy and you could look around a bit more. I'd make sure to use joint protectors down there with the humidity regardless of any guarantee McD offers.

I have a $360. McDermott you can have for $200. What you do with the hundred you save is up to you. Sold!!!!!!!!!!
