Best Cue Maker for the job?

I want to have made a full splice bocote (or is that bacote?) sneaky pete style cue with bocote joint collars and some simple ring work. Also, I would like to have the cuemaker fit an OB-1 shaft with matching joint collar and ring.

What are your thoughts about who I should get to make this cue? Specifically, I want to be sure and get it from somebody who knows what they are doing when it comes to full splice butts and wood joint collars.

Also, I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on how to make this the best playing cue it can be. Should I buy the full splice blank from one source and send it to somebody else to finish the job? Any suggestions about the best way to have the wood joint collars made? Insights regarding how to achieve ideal balance (I'm looking for weight to be approx 19.5 oz)? Ideas about how to construct a butt that will best compliment the hit and feel of the OB-1 shaft?

Thanks for your help!!!

There are a ton of makers that could make a cue to your specs. I'd suggest that whoever you find, Have them make a regular shaft to match the cue also. Might help the re-sale value.

Your options are limited if you expect the cuemaker to actually build the butt from scratch.
Pretty much anyone can put one together from a blank though.

I don't necessarily expect the cuemaker to build the butt from scratch. Any thoughts on who makes the best full splice blanks?

Hercek ????????????:D

Almost all makers can make what you want.
But, Hercek gets my vote.
This one was made by a nobody.

Joey,

The only thing that could make that Bocote look better, would be some eyes!

In fact, that one looks defective.
Just send it to me, I'll make sure nobody sees it.

Somehow I doubt Hercek is making Sneaky Petes these days; am I wrong about this? Someone else suggested Hercek in response to my question about who makes the best full splice blanks. Does Hercek sell blanks???

You simply don't need a Hercek blank to build the cue you want. Too many other options that would work perfect.
I guess you'd like a NASCAR team to tune your car too...

Prather is geared up and now producing some fine looking plain and veneered full spliced butts.
They are even doing double pointed veneered ones.
Check out their work in their larest catalog.
