Best glue ....

You use the rail bolts to pull the slate to the frame, you use the leveling system in line with each rail bolt to push up. You can't use slate screws to mount the slate to the frame of the table, because they prevent you from being able to level the slates after the table is assembled. Is rare that you ever have to pull the slate down for level, as the idea of leveling is to raise up the low areas, not pull down the highs, that's why this is an equal force system, pull down matches the push up.
So let's say you did have a rare time when the slate humps up in the middle. (I don't know,maybe it was stored improperly for years).how would you get the hump out because raising/shimming the out side would only lift the whole piece.

Side to side, or end to end? Thats like asking how do you get a blemish out of the finish of a cue?
 
I was thinking side to side all three pieces were leaned on a wall stored badly and formed a crown down the whole table, even after the seams were glued and flush.

I have a center pull down system designed to handle that. But a lot of what you can and can't do depends largely on the design of the table.

I'll give you an example, take a GC4 let say. The 4 has 2 major cross supports running across the frame at both seams, but simply pulling the slates down at those 2 points may not do the trick to pull the center down on each slate. In order to do that you have to be able to pull the center of each slate down, but because of the design, there's no support braces running down the middle of the table lengthwise, so you'd need to modify the frame support first before you could install my pull down system.

It must require the addition of a huge piece, if as we have seen, a 2 1/4 X 6 1/2 inch of laminated can't do the job!:oops:
