Best hitting cue you ever played with.

I have to cast my vote for my Phillipi. Never been to crazy with the design, but I love the hit and feel of the cue. I have won more matches and tournaments with that cue than anything else I have owned.

I agree that people have varying degrees of experience. I used this fact to evaluate the Fury cues back in 2003 when asked to help sell them. I let people play with them and gave much more weight to what the good players said. And I know you can't help to enter into any conversation with me without some sort of insult or outright lie but I play good enough when I want to. Good enough have run 98 after only the first week of practicing straight pool. But like you my claimed high run is not on video and so must be relegated to the category of fish stories

Wrldpro Wrote
Fish stories? That would be you not me.I have started to post many videos up now and many good ones we are holding back to figure how to distribute them. You could go to youtube and watch them but not under your usual youtube account as i blocked you.I dont know 5 players that can run 100 balls that have ever recorded their practice but I do know of someone that likes to record videos looking stupid.

Ok, just saying you can claim all you want but when only you have seen it then it stays in the realm of the unproven. My diving coach used to say anyone can get lucky and do a dive right once but it's not luck if you can do it again. Oh and you can't block a person from watching your videos on YouTube, you can only block them from commenting on them. I assume you think I would say something "bad" about your performance. Why would I do that? I am always ready to congratulate a person when they actually are able to do what they claim they do.

For the record I would bet you and only you wouldnt ever post a video of your skills playing and you couldnt run 50 balls.

I can't run 10 balls but surely a player of your caliber can make a fair game between us?

Also it has been said you could never make your own case from start to finish including the interior on your own.Why dont you post a video of you and only you making a complete interior and exterior of a case and tooling, colors and finish all on your own with out the use of any help or premade leather patterns to include full assembly and sewing also.

Is there a reason why this is important to you? You aren't going to buy my work anyway so why should you care whether or not I can make a case start to finish by myself? However if you would like to make sizable wager then I will be happy to provide a video series where I start from zero and make a case all by myself, to include sewing the interior liners and all parts that need to be sewn. No one but me will touch any part of the case at any time. What would you care to wager on this?

Im sure you have alot of money and dont need the business but it would increase your sales and any doubters but im sure you will dodge it and twist it around somehow but if you do it then congrats to you.

How do you figure this will increase my sales? I know that being the astute businessman you purport to be that you know that the vast majority of high end goods in the world are not made in a single-person shop. In fact I would say that 99% of all goods sold are made in shops more like mine. My customers appreciate the flexibility and wide range of true custom choices we offer. They are not forced into a narrow set of pre-defined options. So to me offering the talents of 15 people working together to produce dream cases is a business model that works quite well, at least my customers seem to think so.

I have released some videos of me playing that arent fish stories like you said.BTW I went to every IPT event where there was more money on the line that any pool events ever and was Nick Varners coach/cornerman for each event so do you really think a 8 time world champion like Nick varner would have a person in his corner to help make very important shot decisions for him that played like a shortstop.Send Varner an email through nickvarner.com if you doubt me and he will respond.

Most coaches in professional sports are not themselves world class players. Frankly though I don't care what level of player you think you are. If you were world class then I would expect to see the hardware that goes along with it. But you are clearly a pretty good player and if you feel good calling yourself WorldPro then I think you should do whatever comforts you. Given Nick's unfortunate performance in the IPT I would say he should have tried a better coach if you are going to use this as some sort of validation of your status in pool.

So release a video unedited of you actually making a complete case from start to finish every detail with no excuses or help from anybody else and it could prove you of being something more than a sweatshop shortstop and actually a casemaker .no hard feelings jB as its a chance to show your capabilities. If you decline then everyone will know you can not do it.

Oh Mr. Chamberlain let's not be coy. There are plenty of hard feelings between us. Only you resort to lies and slander whenever you say anything about me and I respond with the truth and expose your underlying motivations. You still have not provided the proof that we don't make our own interiors as you claimed last week. You snipe with outright lies, slander, defamation, and innuendo and then when called on it you disappear.

I understand how hard it is for you to be wealthy and a good player and to not be given any real respect for either. Guys like Efren and John Schmidt and SVB get respect for their game because they have the victories in professional tournaments to prove it. Wealthy people don't get respect for telling everyone how much money they have but for how well they treat those less fortunate than them. Grace goes a long way towards earning respect. Again I apologize for not being "nice" and deferential to you but I just can't forgive someone who deliberately lies just to try and "get me".

If you want to see what I and my team are capable of you can see it here.

www.jbcases.com/casesbyname.html - not exactly a cookie-cutter experience.

And lastly, once again, to attempt to stay on topic, what is your choice for the one cue you would keep above all others if you could only keep one?

Just as expected you would try to twist something around.I have many more important things to do than have to write this but people need to know the truth about a few things and you can defend yourself as needed by making a complete case on your own instead of being a keyboard professional.I will certainly call you a casemaker then and so will others but not until then.

post a video of you making a complete case with no help at all you have nothing to lose.Until then you are not a casemaker just a case designer like a customer ordering a case.

a fair game between me and you.well i will play any game including 3 cushion and snooker for large amounts of cash with you but you must post up and no deals to pay off your loss like you have done in the past.

I think Nick Varner played well all things considered as he had trouble seeing the balls clearly in a couple of the events and he collected about 70k for 3 events.I certainly dont need validation of my level of play or knowledge to you and certainly i am proud that Nick choose me for not just 1 event but every event.

Wealthy you say.I would call someone like tikkler or Will Prout wealthy not me however it is a fact you never could have the amount of wealth i have nor my level of knowledge or talent playing pool.I would be glad to propose a round robin format between us playing and i will put up 150k to your 50k cash and even have it live streamed for free.

I havent disappeared or been hiding from anyone JB.I had a funeral for my sister remember the one you made stupid comments about colon cancer donations about then my cousin and just my niece also within 4 months so it came in 3s for me but I dont look for sympathy from anyone especially you.

You will always twist things around and its funny to alot of people and its funny to put you on the spot especially when you claim to be a casemaker and cant even build a case without help.Prove it then if Im wrong. Why would you need money as insentive you have plenty and it only cost you $4.00 in labor to make a case you try to sell for $600.00

As for the best hitting cue well coming from me a guy that is just a shortstop as you say my highrun of 311 which is the current world record on a diamond table and have witnesses that watched it and about 40 runs over 200 and probably 500 runs over 100 but no hardware like world championships(which in straight pool hasnt been a santioned world title since 1999 anyways).Clearly coming from someone that has a nickname that was given to him as wrldpro and no world titles how can I tell what cue hits the best so my vote shouldnt count. So i geuss it means nothing in your book but i think its a tie between a Jack Justis cue and a Thomas wayne cue. Peace to everyone (Romans 10:13)

Much hate I sense in you two...
Measure your peckers and get it over with already lol.
Please don't post the results on youtube.

Just as expected you would try to twist something around.

post a video of you making a complete case with no help at all you have nothing to lose.

May I remind you this thread is about cues? There is nothing to be gained by posting a video of me making a case from scratch Mr. Chamberlain because I do not intend to make cases all by myself ever. I have not done it that way since 1991. However since 1991 I have been directly responsible for more than around 40,000 cases being made under my direction.

I should also remind you that your favorite case maker does not make the whole case by himself either. He purchases pre-made interiors and drops them into a leather bag which he makes. I can tell you that no one considers just the bag to be a cue case worth buying. If you think so then try this thought experiment, take all the interiors out and put the bags up for sale with no possibility of getting a tube to fit the bags. See how much money you get for just the bags. The part that makes the case and actual case is the most important part and that is the part that Jack does not make. It is Made In China and is the same interior that people can get on $20 imported cases.

a fair game between me and you.well i will play any game including 3 cushion and snooker for large amounts of cash with you.

With no handicap? A world professional vs. a banger with no handicap. I said a fair game Mr. Chamberlain based on your self-proclaimed skill level. I trust you when you say you are a great player and I am a crappy one. The other day I got the six out wild from a lesser player than you and lost. I would try you some nine ball with the five out wild since you are a World Pro and this man was only a local hustler. I am not wealthy so we can make it say ten ahead for $3000 at next year's SBE. I might be able to scratch together a little more money and risk another 2-3k against you with that spot but I know it's a tough game at best for me.

I think Nick played well all things considered as he had trouble seeing the balls clearly in a coiuple of the events and he collected about 70k for 3 events.

Maybe he should have consulted an optometrist instead of you. Or you should have taken him to get glasses. Not a very astute coach are you?

Wealthy you say.I would call someone like tikkler or Will Prout waelthy not me however it is a fact you never could have the amount of wealth i do have nor my level of talent playing pool.

No, wealthy YOU say. I would never know that Will Prout or Steve Piesner are wealthy based on their posts here other than the fact that they both purchase a lot of cues and certainly Will isn't flamboyant in the least about his cues. But you on the other hand have repeatedly told us that you are worth 8 million, showed us pictures of your cash, and have reminded us of how you donate pool tables to local pool rooms to insure the playing conditions you prefer.

As for me someday being worth 8 million I wouldn't be so sure of that. Things have a funny way of picking up when you're in the leather business. But I will grant you that I will surely never attain your skill level in pool, the desire is long gone to even think about trying to compete at a high level.
I havent disappeared or been hiding from anyone JB.I had a funeral for my sister remember the one you made stupid comments about colon cancer donations about then my cousin and just my neice so it came in 3s for me but I dont look for sympathy from anyone especially you.

Mr. Chamberlain, I meant you make accusations and then don't back them up on here. Has nothing to do with your departed sister or your plan to sell videos of yourself running balls and donate part of the proceeds to colon cancer. I am only referring to the blatant lies you tell on here about me and the fact that you won't answer when called on the carpet about them. That is what you run away from.

You will always twist things around and its funny to alot of people and its funny to put you on the spot especially when you claim to be a casemaker and cant even build a case without help.Prove it then if Im wrong.

Is this going to be your platform now? As I said I will be happy to place a wager with you and then build a case just for you. I don't think you are so convinced of your position as to bet on it.

As for the best hitting cue well coming from me a guy that is just a shortstop highrun of 311 which is the current world record on a diamond table and have witnesses that watched it and about 40 runs over 200 and probably 500 runs over 100 (which in straight pool hasnt been a santioned world title since 1999)but no hardware like world championships so i geuss it means nothing in your book i think its a tie between a Jack Justis cue and a Thomas wayne cue.Clearly coming from someone that has a nickname that was given to him as wrldpro my vote shouldnt count.

So I am going to put it on record that your choice is a Thomas Wayne cue. I don't count Jack because he is not a cue maker.

Just so I get this right, Bobby Chamberlain, World Professional, says that out of 109 cues he owns that Thomas Wayne is the best hitting cue and the one he would keep if he had to give up all others. This is the one he would count on and take into battle against all other world class professional players.

Is that what you want to say to all the people on this site and all the future readers of this thread?

JB,

I'll get Gibbs working on your cue asap and see if we can't get the Jensen moved to numero 2...... If you've whacked that tip off the Jensen let me know and I'll send more if you send me a shipping addy..... I've been doing my mad scientist impersonation the last few weeks and I have a few new curves to throw..

I still have tip #2 and it feels pretty good. The only thing that bugs me is not being able to burnish it like I am used to. I am thinking about coloring the sides black with a sharpie just for my own piece of mind. :-)

I actually played real good for a while the other day with it and then when I played bad it had nothing to do with the tip.

I have a burnishing fluid in the works and as soon as I get it where I want it I'll send you out some product...

Actually is such a low flash that it works well by hand but not so much on the lathe... Trying to up it just a tad so it works either way....

Until then the good old sharpie may do the trick... It ticks me off too not getting the nice shine and I've been playing with the same tip as we put on yours since I got back and Royce sent me some OB Classic Pro shafts....

And for the record I'll take Gibbs as my best playing cue as long as he tunes it... He will tell you I am a major PITA on that stuff LOL

If I have to pick a brand and just shoot with something the way it comes to my door... OB is getting the vote... Gotta love the consistency of engineered butts and shafts

What the hell?! Where's Kenny Murrell?!

I'm madder than Mr Chamberlain and Mr JB, that no one has mentioned The Best Cue made- A Kenny Murrell!!!!!!!

Well,

RRFireblade and others are right in a sense that with so many cue brands out there and the fact that everyone has different experiences there are bound to be a wide range of answers.

If I had to list all the cues I have shot with it would be well over a hundred brands easily. All the ones I have owned could be more than thirty.

If I had to pick one that I wish I could own and play with based on having played a rack or so with one it would be Dennis Searing's cues. But I refrained from picking his cue because I haven't owned one and I haven't had time to play with one thoroughly.

Probably this would have been better if I had asked folks to list their top ten cues that they really have experience with and THEN to pick their one keeper if they had to give up all but one.

Then at least we could get more of a snapshot of what each person's experience level is. But it's fine as it is I think. Just a little fun.

Dennis Searing.

I truly believe that Dennis makes the finest cues being produced. His work exceeds all expectations a pool player/ cue collector could ever dream of. I believe playability is at the top of his checklist when building a cue.

I have had the pleasure of playing with many of the cues already listed.

After reviewing the list of "best hitting cue you ever played with" it sure makes it easier to make a decision when it's time to buy a new one!:D

With that said, I have had several "best hitting cues" over the years, but the two I have had the most success using was my Schrager that was made for me in the early 90's and my Judd that was made for me late 2003. So if I had to choose only one, I would choose the JUDD (but it's tough).
