Best Hitting Cues Survey - Please Reply

Second response. The cue that I have in my hand, no certain order. Troy Downy, Schon, Phillippi or Jacoby. Love all of them or I would sell an buy something else. I use 13mm. shafts but trying different tips. I believe the tip is the big deal in the feel an hit of any cue. An since this is about cues ever feel you would drop maybe an o/z of weight when playing on a 7ft. from an 9ft. table? Something to think about. Remember keep your power dry.

POST 400.........the answer is Franklin SW, Kersenbrock, Southwest, Szamboti, Scruggs, Bender and Mottey.....or something like that.

This is every cue mentioned in this thread in the last 5 years.....give or take 5 or 6.

great job in going thru the thread
any numbers to go along (how many votes)

The best hitting cue is whatever cue that you like at that moment. It doesn't matter what somebody else thinks, it's only up to the person using the cue at that time. It doesn't matter if it's $5000.00 cue or if it's $100.00 cue it's all up to the shooter at that time!!

Original Gina made on a titlelist blank. Kick myself for selling it. :(
Richard black '96. (gone). :(
Searing also '96. (gone). :(
Jacoby. 2003. Only thing I play with for 8 years now. :) Plays very nice and has a solid hit.
Had an old school Mobley Hoppe w/ Szamboti shaft that Ray Martin gave me. Yeah, it played GREAT. (gone). :(
A good friend of mine that owns Family Billiards here in Clearwater
had a Randy Mobley that hit better than anything I have ever played with.
Ray had a Balabushka (you can see it in early copies of his book.)
Hit was dead nutz! I also have played with 2 of his Szamboties and although the hit was good they were too
heavy for me ( by a full ounce plus,so, can't really say much about them.
JMHO.

Best Hitting Cue is between your EARS IMHO. It is a Mind Game.

The Franklin SW's, Kersenbrocks, Szambotis and later SW's were the ones that stood out most. It seemed like Bender, Scruggs, Mottey and maybe Gina were the next group. Schon was pretty high as well, at least in the second group. Now that there is a decent list it would be easy for someone to go through and tally them up, if they dont mind going through 300+ posts, lol.

Keith kustom is the best thing I've ever picked up. Plus his entry level "plain jane" cues are only $395.

Though I would agree it's still not the arrow, it's the indian that makes the shot. So to speak ;)

Interestingly, I became sold on Schon cues in '99 after Ray Martin let me hit a few balls with his. Ooh, that cue hit sweet!! The first person to turn me on to Schon's was my good friend PoolBum who bought one in the late 80's (I think because JA was playing with a Schon at that time :) ).

nice hit

Just wanted to keep this thread rolling as it was started in 2006. It is headed for its 6th year anniversary. Ive seen people on AZ not keep a cue for 6 days. My picks Jerry R, Olney, Gilbert. Keep this thread alive, please post soon.
