OK so I am not really up to date on entry level jump breaks. Looking for one that jumps and breaks well. It's for my17 year old son so would like to keep it under $125

3... 2... 1... GO!!!

A lot of people swear by the J&J jump/break as it being a best bang for your buck jump/break.

For around $125, you can also look getting these used:
- Poison J/B
- Player's Pure X J/B
- McDermott Stinger J/B

I have a J&J j/b i paid 50 or 60 for years ago. it remains to be the most effortless jump cue ive ever used. it has my vote.

That price J&J and probably up to 200. GL, Tom

I forgot about the J&J
I looked at the players just happened to run across a ad for it. But it's $180 plus.
If I can't find anything I'll just get him a decent sneaky to break with and give him my Lucasi jump cue. And I'll but me a samsara jump break

Easily JJ under $100. At $200 you can get anything from a used Stinger to a low end custom JB. I'd stick with the JJ if you have been out for awhile.

J&J is best bang for the buck, you can check them out on ebay unless someone here can give you a better deal.

It will be for my son who will be learning to jump so I don't want to spend too much. If it were for me Id buy a nicer one or a custom.

If your only concerns are breaking and jumping......JJ....replace the cheap plastic ferrule with threaded black linen phenolic and then a killer tip like White Diamond or Samsara. Can't be beaten for $125ish.

I have tried just about every break and/JB there is out there and regardless of dollar amount

the three best that money can buy are as follows:

Lomax (they are getting harder and harder to find, and you are gonna pay for it... ALOT)
Gilbert (going for $450 with lots available most of the time)

JJ- the one with the wood pin

I have had all of the following- Gulassy, X-breaker, Predator, Jacoby, Samsara, Lucasi, Players, Mezz, Stingers (both from McDermott and from Jerico), Olivier, Fury, Gilbert, and several other customs that need no mentions

And what do I use now... my J&J... why? because I like it better than anything else I have tried BAR NONE

Ditto the J&J. Mine looks like a Gilbert and was on sale for 70bux delivered. Grind the phenolic tip flat and put on a hard leather tip. Better sound and feel.

I've had one of the BilliardWarehouse jump breaks for several years and it works great for me.

Thats exactly what I did, and I also took the long weight bolt out to make it lighter.
