best jump/break cue under 200$ ?

i bought a scratch and dent 7ft brunswick brookstone from a dealer i work for,installed 860 simonis with 4.5in corner pockets and now im trying to get serious with my game.ive been looking for the best jump/break cue i can get for under 200$,so far its gonna be a lucasi or a cuetec,any suggestions,thanks.
 
Check out the Action J/B its about 70$, has a good stiff shaft, and you can add the phenolic ferrule/tip combo for 40$.

Around my area those Action J/B cues and the Sneaky Pete cues, sell like crazy because people use them to break with, and if you break the cue, your out what like 40-70$.
 
i have looked at some of the cost efficent cues,the cutecs seem to be the best,sst shafts are hard to nick under normal use.i have some players cues i use now,with dynamite,elkmaster and lepro tips on them.
 
I bought a Lucasi 2000 jump/break for 100 and it plays pretty good. I had problems jumping at first but I put another 20 bucks in it for a phenolic tip and it jumps really well now.
 
Since you are just beggining, I would worry about the mechanics of the jump / break more than I'd worry about the equipment.

JJ cues comes to mind. You can get a 3 piece combo for j/bk and put a phenolic tip on for well under 200$.

Once you have the experience and understand better from a first hand perspective on what you need and what you like, then consider spending more and worring about brand loyalty etc...

but, I agree with Mr. Wilson, learn the basics, learn the basics, learn the basics,,,then worry about jumping,,,,I find very few angles/leaves that can't be overcome with knowing the basics,,,jumpimg wows the crowd, but wins very few matches for the regular players,,,,JMHO
 
i would also have to recommend the Fury J/B, It hits very nice and my brother and I both like it very much, breaks well
 
thanks for the advice ,i can never get too much of that.my friends suggested that i start with a good jump/break cue,learn/play as much as i can with that before i get a quality playing cue.
 
Actually the best jump/break cue under 200 would be the used sledgehammer that I have for sale :D Shameless plug yes. I would also recommend the modified Players jump/break cue from Proficient Billiards. It looks likes it breaks like a monster and for 100 you cant beat that. You should check out the video evidence that they have!

My jump cue is unorthothdox. It was made from a cheapie cue I bought on eBay for $15.

I cut the butt down, and made sure it would be BCA legal (40 inches) to spare.

Bought a phenolic tip on eBay. Installed it.

Didn't jump... Hmmmmmm.......

Cut off the ferrule, and reinstalled the tip, without any ferrule.

Jumps like crazy now.

Removed the stainless steel joint, lightening it even more. Now weighs something like 9 ounces, more or less.

Freakin' scares the jailbirds... :-)

This evening I jumped probably 5 or 6 balls in 9-ball tournament play...

Jumping balls 4 inches or more away are a gimme; closer than that I need to be more careful.

Without this cue, I'd have been toast...

Make one; get one; whatever... You'll be glad you did!

Ook u can get A action b/j 40 bucks .or a fury b/j $140 or players b/j $50 Or last but Bunjee b/j 130 ..new ..and yes i have tryed all of them..
