Didn't even know they made specialty shafts. They gotta get on their marketing people I guess. Seems like the only shafts anyone ever talks about is predator, OB-1, or Cuetec (which people have only heard of because they want to know how hard they should mock it).

I've played the regular, the g core and the I2. The regular shafts aren't consistent shaft to shaft, but play nice if you find a fairly stiff one. I've got a 12.5 mm on my D series McD that plays pretty nice.

I've shot with the g core and it is a good all around shaft. Scott Lee will tell you it is the best one, but I would disagree.

I really like the feel and taper of the I2. They come with a moori med, but I prefer it with a moori soft. For me the hit and feel of the I2 with the moori soft is ideal.

I use b-models, no place for them in your poll

Mcdermott I shafts are more accurate than there predecessors. They even come with a life time morri tip replacement!! I used the green I shaft, and I could crank on the balls no deflection- Jim McDermott would have been happy with the product. mark

I shoot with a Dale Perry cue fitted with a McDermott I-3 shaft. The balance of the combination is perfect. The 11.75mm tip diameter gives me the feel of geometric precision when I hit the cue ball. The soft Moori tip, that is standard on the I-3, is perfect for cue ball control. I recently sent my I-3 shaft back to McDermott for a tip replacement (I wore it down). Under their warranty, the shaft was cleaned, sealed and a new Moori soft tip was installed - all at no charge. I only paid $19.99 for shipping and handling. Overall, the I-3 is a hard shaft to beat.

I didn't see a button to check stating "They are all fire wood to me" J/K in all honest all I have ever played with are the regular shafts I find them to be very spongy if the new I-series shafts provided a stiffer hit obviously my opion can change based on new information.

Is G-Core better than Regular shaft in general?
I mean if it is worth to spend the extra money to get a G-Core??

I was watching a video about "what to buy" as far as studio lighting and the man who was answering that basic question, which may seem like a simple question, answered with another question: "what are you trying to accomplish?"

Are you looking for low deflection? They're all good shafts once you get used to them... I voted the I2 shaft since I used to play with one and have played with the 314-2, z-2, and the OB1 and prefer the I2 between the three, but honestly I'd suggest the tiger x only because its what I like. I currently own a 314-2 (only cost me a beer :D) and a standard maple shaft, and since I'm used to the standard I prefer the standard and since the tiger x is the most similar to my standard maple I prefer the tiger x.

Its very personal... hell some people don't wear socks because they think it affects their game. To each his own! :)

The g core is reletively inexpensive when compared to other after market low deflection shafts. It is well worth the money, and McDermott will take care of it for you for life. It comes standard with an everest tip, and as someone already posted they will change it twice a year for the cost of shipping and handling.
It is at least $50 cheaper than the other shafts mentioned in this thread.

Yep, I do think the G-Core is the best shaft available. For me, it seems that I don't have to make any aiming adjustement for my stroke...even at high speed (I know this is physically impossible, but that's just my perception).

i have tried i-2 and 3 and standard mcd shafts, liked the i-3 the best. i tried the pred. z shaft and didnt like the 11.75 tip but on the i-3 (11.75 also) i had no problems. one thing i do not like is the shorter ferrules, the chalkends up on the wood instead of the ferrule. i know they are needed for reducing deflection but i do not like them. my teammate has the i-2 and likes to grind the chalk on instead of painting/brushing and has put a ring of chalk on the shaft wood reducing the diameter in that area.

Apply the chalk to the tip properly and it isn't a problem.
