Hey guys! I'd like to get a mirror to get some additional feedback with how I am shooting pool. Mainly I'd like to see in real time how it looks as I get into my stance, sight down my cue, and stroke. I'd like it to be portable enough that I can store it easily as I only plan on using this from time to time.

I'm looking for recommendations. How big do I need, any common mistakes, are there links to one that has worked well for you, etc. Thank you!

I think a 12 x 24 inch mirror is about right. It allows a wider view so you don't have to be so perfect in setting it up. The smaller one posted above is OK but not very good for general use.

You can get mirrored acrylic sheets in 1/8 or 1/4-inch thickness. 1/8 is sufficient. I think glass mirrors are a bad idea on a pool table, but they are a lot cheaper than acrylic if you want to experiment.

Around here there is a company called TAP Plastics that has sheets in stock and will cut to size while you wait.

After you get the mirror you need a frame to mount it. Two instructors have designed frames -- Bart Mahoney a long time ago and more recently Jay Ataka. I think the frame should allow you to mount the mirror along the rail to demonstrate banking and also be high enough you can shoot balls under it when it's out on the table.

I use a standing pivot mirror a lot with my students. It is very effective. Here's an example of how it is used:

I used the vanity in the bathroom when I used to practice my alignment, it has a full length mirror that comes down to top of vanity and vanity was close enough to pool table height.
On the table I would put a mirror on the kids music stand, very adjustable.

This one has a slot in the middle and clip on back to position a phone for video recording. You can use that to aim the mirror perpendicular and centered on your stroke. It’s pretty small, breaks down to store flat, made of acrylic. Coming from aus it takes about a month to arrive.

my biggest problem with the mirror is getting it set up right
