Best One Pocket Match

I'm planning on getting Incardona's One Pocket DVD from Accu-Stats.

As well as one (maybe two) match DVDs.

If you could recommend one match DVD to get, what would it be?

I'd like either

1. Two defensive players.
2. Two offensive players.
3. One of each to see the conflicting styles.

Shannon Daulton vs Bugs Rucker from the 1991 Legends of 1p I believe. Shannon is just a teenager and clearly destined to be a world-beater -- he shoots at everything, while Bugs, being one of the all-time great bankers really puts on a show at times. They get down to a single ball at least one game as well.

Any of the Accustats DVDs of Efren vs. Cliff from the mid 90s to mid 2000s are great as well.

Interesting that you mentioned the Shannon vs. Bugs match. I just ordered that today from Accu-Stats. Really looking forward to it.
 
Shannon Daulton vs Efren is a two cd match as it went hill hill and is the best one pocket match I've seen. I don't remember the year as I have loaned it out, but it was the semi's and Buddy Hall is waiting for the winner of this match. Shannon shows so much heart and is the only player I've seen that can make Efren a little weak. This is defense and offence at its best.
 
Shannon has a 2 tape match with Steve Mizerak from the same tournament where he played Bugs,this one is the finals.

Mizerak goes up 3-0 and 4-1 I think,and Shannon battles back to the point of taking it hill-hill,and down to the last ball.

Another personal fave probably isn't available from Accu-Stats any more,and with the billiards torrent site being gone there isn't much chance of it being uploaded any where.

This is an "after hours" match,one camera angle and no commentary but it does have audio,between Efren and Grady Mathews,race to 5 for the cash. Tommy D.

I agree 100% with this statement.
 
Power one Pocket

I have seen several mentioned and they too are very good, but would not change my pick, however, I should reinforce Lenny's comments on Reyes and Scott Frost. Another great match! I need to find Shannon and Rucker in my collection as it has been years since I watched it, first in VHS and replaced in DVD. (BTW Accustats has a great plan if you want dvd and originally bought in VHS, they replace them cheap.).

Scott Frost, Power One pocket is a much and should have been near the top of the list. I can not believe it has not been mentioned. Fast Lenny can hook you up.

Get yourself a copy of Jimmy Fusco, vs Jimmy Rempe, from the "Legends of One Pocket Philadelphia Style."

Freddie B. is commentating along with someone.
You will hear commentary that specifically deals with the positioning of the balls, and how moving a ball currently, sets up position for future shots, both offensively and defensively, as well as squeezing, over squeezing, playing the score, the value of an intentional scratch, etc etc.

Matches of old, are way better instructional tools, then new matches.

You get to see stuff that you never see in the new matches.
All you see in the new matches, is someone running out.
What the heck do you learn from that? How to run balls?

Sure, running out is great. Everyone loves running out. But running out doesn't do squat for showing you any moves.

Heck, half of the guys out there that never miss a ball, go into complete gridlock with smoke coming out of their ears, if you just send every single ball uptable.
Then they get the deer in the headlights look on their face cause they have no clue what to do.

Thanks for the comments, it might be one of the best one pocket DVDs made, it has sold a good deal of copies too. I think Billy Incardonas one pocket DVD is very good too. I have watched many of them in preparation to do POP and most of it was the same old stuff which is good but not for everyone. We might do another video this year.

Scott Efren DVD is great for aggressive one pocket play, i do like the Efren Dalton match at Galveston a while back on you tube-serious one pocket.
