Best player for the money, features old growth shafts and top quality~

Nothing like "worldwide shipping" to get the guys outside the US to ***** up their ears and take notice.

I gotta hear an independent review or two, but I'm interested.;)

Review

Got my cue today! The shipping was very fast and Matty had great communication.

Let me start by saying the finish on the cue is beautiful. Very smooth and deep with a high luster. All the points are dead even and the veneer work is extreamly good.

The ring work is a little larger than traditional Southwest and is indexed and alignes properly in the butt of the cue. The ring work on the shafts does not when screwed onto the butt. A very minor cosmetic thing but worth mentioning. Also the Holly that was used in the ring work is not as bright white as the Holly used in the veneers. I really don't hold these 2 items against a cue in this price range.

The shafts

Shaft 1 4.4oz, About 22 growth rings, 13.35 at the base of the ferrul. High tone when bounced . I chose a Kamui Med for the tip. A few sugar marks but no big deal.

Shaft 2 4.25oz, About 27 growth rings, also 13.35mm. Extreamly high tone when bounced and also equiped with a med Kamui. This shaft is a monster!

The hit of the cue was firm and solid. There were no buzzing or unusual noises. The shafts are a little thick for my personal taste and I'm going to have them taken down to about 12.80mm . I feel that I will then truely have the monster player that I was looking for to leave in my locker at the local pub.

Just for the heck of it I screwed my favorite Harris shaft onto the butt and the whole cue felt really great. With a little retapering on the shafts that came with the cue I see it playing as well as my Harris. Just without the worry.

This cue I believe represents an excellent value for the $$$. While not perfect it has all the bases covered very well

Thanks Matty for a great deal on a fine cue.

Nice review. The minor "faults", don't even sound like faults to me. My only worry would be if the cue stays straight a few months from now, and if the finish holds up.

Everything is straight for now. I'll try to remember to update in 6 months or so before pool leauge starts.

Glad to hear you like it and thanks for the review , which goes in every detail I believe, and enjoy the game

These cues sales like hot cakes, moves really quick

During the selection, I found that there're only two cues comes with two "normal" shafts, when I say normal, the quality is not inferior to any custom cues below 2k and the playability of the cue is still stiff and firm due to solid construction.

I'll market these two cues at a special discount, and this is one time event, rest of the cues come with premium shafts have firm price.

These 2 cues are:

Cue #1: ebony into ebony , blue red white veneers, 19.75oz
special price $Sold shipped

Cue #2: coco into bem (features crazy birdseyes) 19oz
special price $sold shipped
first come first serve, these two cues will go to the first 2 azers who reply to this thread or pm me , this is a real steal and you can't afford to miss it

thanks,

Matt

DID YOU HAVE THE SHAFTS TURNED DOWN YET?

I KNOW OVER FOUR OUNCE SHAFTS SEEM GREAT, BUT AT 13.35MM THEY BETTER WEIGH THAT MUCH. I WAS CURIOUS WHAT THEY WEIGHED, AND HOW IT HIT AFTER BEING TURNED DOWN.

Travis is finishing them up along with a refinish on a Harry Richards . I'll let you know as soon as I have them . Travis said they were nice wood.

Got the shafts back from Travis a few days ago. They still are a nice 4.0 oz and 3.85 oz respectivly. The cue plays much better for my personal tastes as I really like Travis's taper. Cue seems lighter and more alive to me anyway. Just wanted to give you the update and I still very pleasesd with my purchase and Matty's excellent service:thumbup:
