Best Player in state - simplified and on track

We still need the best players for the following states:

Hawaii - I would think Hawaiian Brian should be on the list.
Nebraska
Nevada - Somebody has to know the top players there.
New Hampshire
New Mexico
North Dakota
Vermont
West Virginia

I spoke with Richie Orem at the Open and he did say he was moving back to Alaska to take a job and I heaerd recently he in fact did move back... So he can added as the #1 player in Alaska.

Charley Bryant should definitely be added to Texas. Also, does Doug Jones still live in Texas? He is another strong player.

I forget his name, but I'm told that the guy who runs the pro shop at Hawaiian Brian's plays real good. However ... is Alex still living there? If so, I think we have our answer.

For Florida it's a toss up on any given day.

IMO, at the top are Corey Deuel, Robb Saez, Tony Crosby, Donnie Mills, John Schmidt, and don't ever forget Mike Sigel. At 54 he's still hitting them good - I saw him break and run 8 consecutive racks of 8 ball about a month ago. He still plays ALL games at a world class level and he is a threat to beat anybody IMO.

Doesn't Troy Frank live in Florida now? I thought he did. Mabe somebody can confirm that, if he does, he's at the top also.

Luis Viera is a great player, but about a week ago I heard he was detained for an extended stay in the Orange County Detention Facility. I don't think they have any pool tables in there.

Tommy Kennedy has moved back to Indiana, however he spends a lot of time here in Orlando when promoting his tour. He's one of the best no matter where he goes.

North Carolina - Mike Davis - Earl - Ron Parks - Brian White - Jeff Abernathy - & Mike Gulyassy is still hittting them pretty damn good.

Georgia - Louis Ulrich, Johnny Archer, Kim Davenport,

Mississippi - Art Tripp! :p

New Jersey - Danny Basavich

Troy Frank lives in Florida, Last i heard he and his family moved from Naples to the San Carlos Park area, which is 20 min north of Naples

See post 121. Anybody agree or disagree.

WEST VIRGINIA - Larry Price is in jail now (is he from WV? been here for a little while...thought he was from KY)
I would think Travis Stamper unless I'm missing someone.

I agree with putting Travis Stamper on the list, when he's on he's capable of beating almost anyone... and when was Larry put in jail? He was supposed to be out West on the road...?? J/W?

TN list
should add Nick Vita... He not far behind Hennessee in 9 ball and he plays 1 pocket better than Hennessee or Pickle. I guess you might not consider 1 pocket part of who is the best player but I do...

AR list
I mentioned Squirrel (Bobby Earl) earlier... And if Greg Dickens is on he can play with alot of great players on the bar box

I guess you aren't interested in updating the list, I posted this 3 times now

I didn't because I know Vita very well and he will not play even with Hennessee or Pickle any game other than one pocket (and I don't believe he would play 1p with Henn either) and he cannot win an all-around against the other two ... so why name him as one of the best and knock his action. I did add Bobby Earl to the AR list, but I still have no idea who he is.

At what game?

Is your list a nine ball only list or something? Best player in a state would include 1 pocket to me. If you know Nick as well as you say you do, than you know he plays better 1 hole than those guys. Last time I talked to him, no one would play him. So he took up poker

Anything other than one pocket. He can't win a rotational game against them on either the big or small track. He is the underdog in both 8 ball and banks as well. I am not knocking his game. Vita is a phenomenal player, but only a very slight favorite in one pocket. I am not only including 9ball or I would have to include Hickerson as well ... who is also a favorite over Vita in rotational games. This was an all-around best player list (open to interpretation as I don't have endless knowledge of players in every state) not a listing of specialists (Vita's one pocket game being about 1.5 - 2 balls better than his rotational play).

Oklahoma -

Back in the day, Larry Humphreys, Gary Seay, Kent Biffle, & Don Bobbit(originally from Dallas area) were all big names around these parts.

So I've been told...I'm too young to have experienced it first hand...DAMMIT!
