Wish I could try all those cues from those great makers ! I have tried quite a few though and my favorite is my Paul Dayton ebony sneaky. Everyone who tries it loves it too...Tom

My favorite, which is the one I'm using now, is a 2005 Martin.
It features an unadorned curly and birdseye maple forearm, bushka rings, rosewood butt sleeve with four small ivory diamonds, old style green and white wrap, and a fitted Predator shaft with Moori medium tip.

Kenny Murrell for Me

I am playing with a cue by Kenny Murrell that is by far the best playing cue I have ever owned and best looking too!

This is a poll to see what everyone feels is the best playing cue. Feel free to vote for as many as you like. Please base your responses on how a cue plays rather than how nice it looks. Sorry if I did not list your favorite... the forum only allows 25 selections.

I went through the forum and made a list of the other cues that people have mentioned as their favorite. If you like a cue not listed... Copy this list and update with your selection.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. my votes go to andy gilbert ( the man has figured it out!!)

my second vote goes to BCM (Bryan Mordt)

Bryan has also nailed the cue making thing!!! also he's open to building what you want how you want it. his thin handle and long taper make cb control and ball pocketing easier in general!

A 19.4 ounce Szamboti window cue with custom Tascaralla shaft. Someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I sold it. Then about a month later I tried to buy it back and he said "no way, it's not for sale".

Serves you right...

I've hit with a lot of very strong hitting cues over the years, but the best one.....bar none....was an older 6 point McDaniel with veneered prongs and flat face phenolic joint and 3/8-11 stainless pin. Man, that cue had it going on !!!!!!

Certainly Meucci has numerous loyal fans.

Bob Meucci no longer works in the Meucci shop AFAIK though, and as far as I understand has not done so for some years. Dan Janes, as far as I know still works in the JOSS shop on a daily basis and still in fact produces one-off custom cues out of that very same shop.

Meucci survives as a legend. Bob Meucci himself is a great cue maker, but has essentially nothing to do with Meucci cues today.

.

This is incorrect. I'm in contact with the factory and he is in almost everyday around 10AM. He's very helpful and will answer all questions.

My favorite is Meucci. Sorry to the haters -I have nothing to hate. I was first given a custom cue as a xmas gift 09- Meucci Green Hornet. Great cue- Went by the factory a couple of months ago- They have built a family billiards room in the front of the factory. He gave me a lesson and I've been off and running ever sense.

My .02 after watching Bob shoot. Go practice- he shoots lights out - hands me the cue- yeah that same shot not so easy.

His 1st rule- chalk up before every shot.
rule 2.. hehehehe

Cheers,

LSB..

Mike Cochran Cue

Then or tied with Tim Scrugggs Cue old tappers for old cloth and new tappers for new cloth.. Black Boar hasn't been tried yet though. Very old Meuccies and Helmstetters are sweet for sure.
Nick :)

great minds

I played with a Schon for years and had Jacoby make me a cue a few years ago and have never looked back

I also played with schons and others and my current and last cue is my trusty custom jacoby and despite calls to a lot of cuemakers before i went with Brandon and Dave they hit a homerun on this build and i will never look back either.

I shoot with a late 60's, black label, 18 oz., Brunswick Hoppe Pro. I was wanting to have the thick butt turned down and replace the brass joint with stainless steel; but it shoots so good, I can't bring myself to change it. I'm scared it will change the feel.
