The best I have ever seen is HardTimes in Bellflower, CA. What other rooms have that kind of room for spectators?

Never been to that Hall but as far as comfort you cannot beat Pro-Tyme in Orland Park,Illinois..plush leather chairs ,tv's,great food bar,ect...it's easy to fall asleep there .LOL:)

But how many spectators could they have at the same time? I was just wondering how many rooms have the the room to have 60+ spectators... something that larger tournaments might want without having to go to a casino or convention center.

Shooter's in Riverside, CA could probably hold 50 or 60 in the tournament room (bleachers). It's a great room and the tables are UBER-tight!

JOB's in nashville has bleacher seating for several hundred. The Music City Open is a bar table tournament and will start next week. Pro cue service, good food, several TV's, tight 9' table set up for matches and spectators, adult beverages, etc. make it a great venue.

Country Club USA in Chelmsford, MA has bleacher style seating. When I used to play there 6 or 7 years ago, they even had a video camera over 1 of the tables... They place is huge and has the most well maintained tables I've ever played on...

Is Country Club Mike X's place? I may be wrong, but it seems to me that I heard is was.

Paradise Billiards in Corpus Christi, Tx.

It's about the nicest, most well designed pool room I've seen in the last twenty years.

The room is basically split into two sections.
One side has, I believe, 24 8' tables with the main bar and restaurant.

The other side is designed for players as it has a huge elevated viewing area over the tables. There are 11 or 12 Lemaucher (sp?) 9 footers spaced well apart, a 10 footer heated bed billiard table and one of the most beautiful 12 foot antique snooker tables I have ever seen.

Lots of original art work on the walls. Lots of TV's showing pool matches.

Good food, too.

Harrison Todd is the owner and just a good guy.

If you're ever in the area, check it out.

Planet 9-Ball in Tampa is 15,000 sq. feet, with plenty of room for spectators around their 9' tournament tables and their 'action tables'...
Doug
( full bar and restaurant too and a Pro shop with repairs .......... but P-9-Ball closes at 3:00a.m. )

( there's even an elevated stage and microphone for dancing frogs )

I spent a lot of time in Bellflower at Hard Times - home away from home - always good. I heard Palace Billiards in Chicago land is good for tournaments. Years ago the Cornerpockets rooms were pretty good.

No it isn't... country club is owned by Dave Cuhna....real nice place...Mike X sold his place over near the cape a couple of years ago and is now living in Fla. I justy saw him last Sept at the Open and he is doing very well and loving Fla.................mike

Q Masters in Virginia Beach is the best ive ever been in. Owned by Barry Behrman. It is huge, has awesome equipment, a pro shop, 3 Cushion tables, 9 footers, bar boxes, and stadium seating in the tournament room.

Actually I am headed there tommorrow night. I would love some friendly competition. Im short on cash so I cant gamble but if you beat me I will pay for the table, (company credit card). If you have an extra cue I can use it would be awesome!

Hard Times

Hard Times, Sacramento, Ca.
Great tournament room, on the bleacher side it seats a couple of hundred probably, it is patterned after Hard Times, Bellflower, because the owner ?Chuck used to own the Bellflower room. They are so big and cushioned, a lot of action players sleep on them between matches if you know what I mean.

When Hardtimes in Sacramento has a tournament how many spectators do they get? I wonder if its worth having that much sq ft used for seating.

9 footers. I took 4th there after beating Monica Webb and putting her on the loser's side. :D (She eventually came back and took 2nd, Helena won.)

A couple of the best spectator-friendly places are no longer here in the Seattle area. One was Harry P. Cue's, Harry Platis's place, that had 4 9-footers in a pit area where all the action was. The bar boxes were arranged on another level above where you could look down into the pit. As a league player there, I remember having handstand contests in the aisles up there. :p Funny thing was, my future husband was in the Pit most of the time and I never noticed him!

The other place was the poolroom that was in 'Playing Off the Rail', the Casino Club or Nardo's (depending on when you are talking about it.) 8 Gold Crowns surrounded by theater seating on 2 levels. Now those were nice plush seats for sweating the action!

Hard Times has tons of bleacher seating for spectators...very nice. There was also another place I vaguely remember that had a Pit setup where I believe the first Regional Tour Championships were held (in L.A.?).

I agree with Hardtimes

I agree HardTimes in Bellflower is the "best pool room" to view a tournament. In addition I think that Mike Zuglan's Joss tournament at The Turning Stone Casino is the "best venue" for viewing a tournament
