Best run ever

So you like 14.1 and watch a lot of it or have seen a lot of it maybe you've only seen one game or practice.
Well what was the best display of the game you've ever seen, like what was the best run. I know some think that "high runs" mean best but i don't think so someone can run a 50 and it be a beautiful 50.

I think Alex Lely and Ruslan looked real clean off the top of my head, what about you?

I was watching Jayson Shaws 227 run from the 2015 Straight Pool Challenge at DCC. He made some incredible shots to keep it going. In just 59 minutes he ran 227, that's under 15 seconds a ball.

Not the "best" run, but Stuart Pettman running 100 and 117 on the 10 footer at DCC a couple years ago was real fun to watch. None of the top 14.1 players came close to breaking 100 and he did it twice.
Interesting to watch a former snooker pro overcome his lack of 14.1 knowledge with snooker break shots and fearless shotmaking. The commentary is fun to listen to as well.

The run starts at around the 1:30:50 mark.

When Hohmann won the European Championship back in, I guess 2005.
It's been so long that the exact details are getting fuzzy but het ran out several
matches to 125 in a row including the quarters and semis and had an overal
average inning (this is including safetys) of 50. Hohmann was even telling the fans
after the matches that he was gonna do it again the next match and then he did.

It was like when Efren won the DCC 1P against Pagulayan and Miller, you just can't
play the game any better, and I was just lucky enough to be there at that tournament
since there were no dvd's or livestream of it.

IMO - Crane's 150 and out against Balsis - along with Sigel's 150 & out against Zuglan ... quite possibly the best pure 14.1 that you will ever see.

Honorable mention goes to Appleton's 200 against Bustamante in the World Tournament a few years ago - and Thorsten Hohman's 152 & out against Jim Gottier from the 2007 NJ Straight Pool Championships.

John Schmidt has some dvd's out there where he does commentary on some - he walks you through a few others - if you love the game and aspire to play it well - those dvd's are GOLD.

Then there's Lipsky's 85 ... if you haven't seen that video - watch it! It's not a super high number, but that run was as technically perfect as you'll ever see.

Here is the 85 by Stevie Patterns -

I like Crane's, if for no other reason that there was a lot of drama just a few balls before he was out. Irv's reaction was priceless. I'm surprised he didn't call for a shot of whiskey.

In my opinion, Jim Rempe was the best pattern player of the modern era, closely followed by Sigel, West, Varner and Hopkins. Any footage of their runs is priceless, but I'm on board with those that suggest that Sigel's 150 and out run against Zuglan in 1992 was the highest level of technical elegance ever seen at 14.1 in recent times.
