best spot

I am the caliber player that often requires some weight. If it were up to me I would ask for the last two. (or three I guess).

What is the bigger spot, the last 2 or 2 on the rail to 9?
I would prefer to give up the 2 on the wire. I believe I would be able to get even at five or six, then we are playing even the rest of the way.

On a tight pocket table the last two could be bigger than you might think.

I would prefer to give the 2 games on the wire because if you can get the score to 2-2 or 3-3 for example...its an even race then without a spot. But, the last 2 is there every game. JMO.

with b players and up 2 games on the wire is a much stronger spot.the better you play the better the 2 on the wire is.

if the math is between two helpless pool playes who can't make 3 in a row then it might go the other way.

remember 2 games on the wire is always there too.some sest you might cathc up with two quick ones but if you lose two quick ones then you are down 4-0,a tough hole to dig out of.

for a players the last is no spot at all and the 2 on the wire is pretty stout.it is a 20% edge basically every set.

I agree. And the superiority of the 2 on the wire increases as the skill of the best player increases.

With an A vs. a C player, the C isn't going to see the last two anyway so the "effective spot" is essentially zero.

The C can only hope for lucky rolls, draining the 9 a couple of times etc. so those 2 on the wire are significant.

However, A vs. C, 2 won't be nearly enough so either way, C is donating.
