best table lights?

I'm the one that bought the tables without the lights. We'll now have 13 4.5 X 9 Gabriels Signature Pro table on which we could run some pretty good tournaments.

I just want to point out three things

(1) Those Gabriels tables are the nuts
(2) Those Gabriels lights are the nuts
(3) Tom has a great deal here for anyone in a position to take advantage

Thanks for the props Mike. I had been regretting not taking a picture of the Blue Chalk Club before we broke down the tables. Really hoped we would be using all the tables ourselves by now. Glad you posted the pic, I saved a copy so when people ask I have a picture.

Just an FYI for all the people who hate florescent lights (I'm in that group with you)...

Starting in 2012 all incandescent bulbs will begin to be phased out in the US and completely phased out by 2014. There are some exceptions, such as bulbs under 40 watts, appliance bulbs, bulbs over 200 watts, colored lights, 3way bulbs, and a few others. So, if you're looking at doing a lighting system now for long term, don't make your plans around using normal incandescent bulbs....

OMG! Is that true? I have a profound dislike for flourescent lighting.... news of incandescent bulbs being phased out is alarming to me.

Let's see.... I'm in my 40's... if I live another 50 to 60 years... figure I change about 4 to 5 light bulbs per year.... how many bulbs do I need to stockpile to last the rest of my life?

Excuse me, I'm going to go do some math..........

Yup..... Tis true... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phase-out_of_incandescent_light_bulbs

In December 2007, many of these state efforts became moot when the federal government enacted the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which requires all general-purpose light bulbs that produce 310–2600 lumens of light[8] be 30% more energy efficient (similar to current halogen lamps) than current incandescent bulbs by 2012 to 2014. The efficiency standards will start with 100-watt bulbs in January 2012 and end with 40-watt bulbs in January 2014.

Light bulbs outside of this range are exempt from the restrictions (historically, less than 40 Watts or more than 150 Watts). Also exempt are several classes of specialty lights, including appliance lamps, rough service bulbs, 3-way, colored lamps, and plant lights.

By 2020, a second tier of restrictions would become effective, which requires all general-purpose bulbs to produce at least 45 lumens per watt (similar to current CFLs). Exemptions from the Act include reflector flood, 3-way, candelabra, colored, and other specialty bulbs.[28]

I really love the Brusnwick GC light fixture, but the cheapest I could find it for was around $1600 plus delivery.

More than twice the cost of the Diamond light that I bought.

I actually like the 4 x 8 Diamond light better as i think it looks more balanced than the 2 x 8 models.

I flush mounted mine to the ceiling so it is out of the way. It was a total pain in the ass but it turned out nice.

They are great lights; I got lucky and found a used one locally.
I would be afraid to ship one unless they were crated.

Dear Mister Baxter, you have never hit a masse in your life, and if you did, you would find out, its impossible with your light. Now and then, somebody leaves you a shot, where the cue ball is almost froze on the object ball, and you want to pocket it and draw down table for the next ball, and the only shot possible, is the Masse, and few shoot it, because they dont know it.

You find my post negative, because I am telling you that your light sucks and is a bad design. Rather than face the truth, you bought a overprice pos with a bad design flaw, you trash me instead. So typical of this place, you guys dont want the truth, cant handle the truth, and when you get the truth, you shoot your messenger. Few will ever admit, they made a mistake, or bought the wrong item. Instead, they will simply defend that. That makes them feel, better.

The postive part was, I am telling you the Brunswick light is better, and does not have that problem. I have seen all kinds of lights people have made, that are better than the Diamond. If I was negative, I would have just trashed your light and given no other options or advice. Have a nice day.

Pancho

LOL.

I don't even own a table, let alone a table light. Regardless, I've played on tables with numerous different light set-ups, and the Diamond is the one I've found to be the best. Don't get your panties in a bundle.

Also, how would you know if I've ever hit a masse before? That's impossible for you to know. I know how to hit a masse, trust me, and yes I've hit them in match before, with successful results. Don't try to comment on my playing aptitude without knowing me. That would be a mistake.

And there you go again with your condescending attitude. Guess what? You're not the hottest thing to ever hit the face of the earth. Get over yourself, and get off the high horse. You don't know more than most of the people on here, though you think you do. I'm getting sick of it, and I know I'm not the only one. I just have the balls to say so.

Then you have caught your self, in your own lie, because if you ever hit a masse under a diamond light, you would then know, its impossible, the light is too low and too wide and it blocks the shot.

Look, this is going now where with you, I can clearly see you know everything there is to know about Diamond lights, you must work for them and sell them or are a dealer.

So how about I admit, I am wrong, I dont know squat and you are totally right, I now prostrate my self in front of you, grovel to kiss your ring, forgive my ignorance about your light and product. I'll try to move on to another topic I know more about, getting drunk and drivin trucks. I bow to your superior intelligence and knowledge. Is that what you were looking for?

The light has never been in the way of hitting a masse, at least where I play. Maybe the Diamonds you've played on have their lights hung lower than my local room, but here they aren't in the way of a masse. I don't know everything there is to know about anything. I just offer my opinion, formed from my experiences, with respect and without condescension. It irks me when someone tries to talk down to me. I treat everyone with respect until given a reason not too.

Regardless this is getting old. Respond with whatever you want, I won't be reading this thread any longer.

Forget the fact that others on this thread, have also confirmed what I said that the light blocks the masse shot, but of course, we are all wrong sir, and you are right. Please excuse my ignorance and I stand corrected. Thanks for this education. yo da man, I am just a poor ignorant mexican bandidto, what do I know, I dont know squat.

Will that work, since the last one didnt?
