betting lingo?

being so far away from any real action i have no clue what a lot of the lingo is when betting, giving weight etc... basically what im looking for is like a hustlers dictionary. the reason i ask is that i am thinking about writing a fictional book that is soley based on the game and one young mans determination to be one of the greats. i have the basic story line thought out but would like the dialogue to be as authentic as possible.

Really, look around here and some of the posts are dripping with hustler lingo. Get the nuts, games on the wire, giving weight, race to, all that stuff. It gets over the top at times, but really spices things up!

Hey Rent the movie Shooting Gallery. It has tons of hustler lingo in it. Also at the very begining of the movie they show a bunch of hustler ling on the screen. You might like it for the lingo.

Invest in a trip to Louisville Kentucky to the Derby City Classic in early January, get there early, stay up 24hrs per day watching the action tables, and write it all down, soak it up. Take names and numbers, follow up on sweating the action. 'Tisn't hard.

My next book, the GosPool contains a pool/hustlers glossary. Several pages of defined hustler jargon. Look for it when it comes out in a few months.

haha no I don't think im good enough to play for any real money, in fact one would have to have money in order to bet it (I wouldn't want to go down firing an air barrel lol) thanks for the links guys they're going to come in handy.
