Beware of Brian Artrip (aka scruggsinhand)

You just might...

FUNNY BUMP FOR A SERIOUS SERIOUS ISSUE!!!

In times of need, you do not need to call them, they will find you...

I hate to hear stories like this...only send MO to people you know from the board unless use escrow. Sometimes the cuemaker will take the cue in for inspection and act as an escrow service (I called one cuemaker and they gladly agreed, however the deal went south--now I know why!!!) There are a lot of useful tips here:

I hope it all works out for you...

Try the Cue Bounty Hunter -If not then send cousin Vinny to retrieve your money.
Sometimes the legal way just does not work.
Maybe someone on AZ has frequent flyer miles they would donate to you so you can pay this Thief a visit & discuss it with him.
Or maybe a local Az'er would be nice enough to pay him a visit?
I wish I was close.

Best of luck getting him.

UUMMMmm... ESCROW!

i think no matter what method u use if someone is only looking to screw you thats whats gonna happen. wait til valley forge or derby city and buy in person safest way

I grew up in Kokomo. Only live an hour from there now. I had a dealing with this ass a couple of years ago. I wouldnt mind looking him up. PM me.

This is the kind of guy dark alley's were designed for. Unreal. You know...I do believe I've gotten to the point where I'm going to require an escrow service to do business in a place like this. I work too f'in hard for some jackass to wave a cue in front of my face...and rob me from afar. I will say this. I'm certainly not beyond using a bounty hunter, or making personal visits if someone hoses me. I don't care where the hell you live.

It seems like there's a post a week about stuff like this.

It is getting a little crazy lately.

sorry for your loss

I posted a comment months ago that ebay was much safer than az now. These post are too many for such a small amount of traffic compared to ebays traffic. It seems the low lifers have moved to sites like az,cueauctions, and what ever else is out there to avoid the heat. The cue collecting world is a small world,we all pretty much now each other and see each other at events thru out the year.I will continue to do busness with the same crew with no worries but the rest I just walk away from ,I dont care how good the deal sounds, sooner or later the cue will be in spanky, howerthedick,JV,bill,or scott or matts hands to name a few and then I'll maybe buy the cue and feel safe:D :D

Sorry to hear about your problem

$1500 bucks is a lot to have ignored by the cops. If you want to file charges I would think they would be obligated to take the complaint.

Good Luck

I considered calling him also. I have a buddy that is on Kokomo PD and has a private investigation business on the side. I have a call into him. He owes me a favor so I am sure he can take a few minutes out of his day to deal with this a$$bag.

Only thing bad about John is what he will want to recover the money I bet it will be 40%.

It's too bad

that these situations turn into where the cure is worse than the disease, and these guys know it to begin with.

Just got of the phone with my cop buddy. He said you need to file a report in your home city and state. He said KPD has two Detectives dealing with this type of theft. There case load is over 8,000. He also said if you mailed payment to contact the Postmaster which you have already heard. He says the FBI will be little help . His suggestion was Howard County Small Claims Court. There is a small fee of course but YOU would not have to be present at the hearing. You just have to have a representive there on your behalf. I have no problem picking up the proper forms from the County Clerk and sending them to you. I also can remit the forms to the Clerk to be filed if you like. I am sure you could find a advocate to appear for you. I am sure you can find someone to scare the money out of them but the ramifications might be pretty high. I have no problems talking face to face but I dont know if it would do any good. Let me know if you would like my help.

This sucks, because it blows it for the rest of us honest small time non-collectors who just want to make a deal. Whether it being a one cue purchase, sale or trade. Man, I hate crooks.

I know what you are saying. I have only had three transactions on here. Both were better than flawless. You never know when you are going to find one of these scumbags.
