Dan Dishaw mentions this on his web site as exotic hardwood? One cue looks black and another brown. Anyone with some kind of knowledge of this type of wood?

OK, maybe I'm a little slow. I don't know how to do the link. And are you saying that Dishaw mispelled Bacote (bicoti) and is it another word for ebony?

Well they are saying he misspelled Bacote because he did.

Bocote
Specie Latin: Cordia gerascanthus

Specie Description: Bocote is an exotic wood native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. It features a wide range of grain patterns from straight to wild, with curved lines and swirls. The color ranges from golden brown to tan to golden yellow. It is a hard, heavy, and dense wood, strong and stiff, with a medium texture.

Gaboon Ebony
Specie Latin: Diospyrus Crassiflora

Specie Description: Gaboon Ebony is an exotic wood native to Western Africa. It is an extremely hard, dense, and heavy wood, with a very fine texture. The sapwood is pink to pale red-brown in color, while the heartwood is a uniform jet-black or black-brown streaked.

It's obviously a typo since the 'i' key & the 'o' key are right next to each other on a std. keyboard. Editing is essential for preventing scenarios like this.

Bocote can also be spelled Bacote.
Gabon can also be spelled Gaboon.

To the OP, you should really Google these woods if you want the real skinny.

Isn't Bicote a reference to Kathy Lee's gay son?

Yours Is EBONY Not Bacote

Your Cue is a Gabon Ebony Version of the Bicote (Bacote) one on his web site.

Fact: He just cant spell (correctly) very well. He once misspelled Syracuse, a city hes been living in for a while, on one of his posters, and had to get it reprinted.

My theory is that Sometimes he copy/pastes his descriptions of the different variations of his cues and forgets to change all details.
