Big changes in FargoRatings

Noticed some recent changes to FargoRate's top 100 lists (https://www.fargorate.com/top-ten-lists)

Top 100 World:
  • Joshua Filler (831) overtakes SVB (829) to be the #1 rated player in the world
  • 8 of the top 100 players in the world have been removed from the world ratings
    • Jiaqing Wu (#3), Anton Raga (#5), Can Wang (#22), Kai Lun Hsu (#31), Siming Chen (#40), Hoang Duong Quoc (#51), The Kien Do (#70), Patrick Gonzales (#78)
  • All of the players were Asian: 3 CHN (Wu, Wang, Chen), 2 PHI (Raga, Gonzales), 2 VIE (Quoc, Do), 1 TPE (Hsu)
  • Wu, Raga, Wang, and Hsu had FargoRates over 800
    • Siming Chen (former #1 female player in the world) was knocking on the door at 798
  • Players move up in world ratings to fill the vacant positions accordingly
  • Josh Roberts, Wojciech Sroczynski, Fitim Haradinaj, Fabio Rizzi, Jonathan Pinegar, Thomas Luttich, Johnny Archer, and Gerson Martinez Boza are added as #93 - #100

Top 100 World - Female:
  • Han Yu (778) overtakes Siming Chen (798) to be the #1 rated female player in the world
  • 7 of the top 100 female players in the world have been removed from the world ratings
    • Siming Chen (#1), Xiao-Fang Fu (#3), Bai Ge (#6), Wang Wanling (#8), Chia Hua Chen (#10), Xia Yuying (#13), Yu-Wen Hsieh (#17)
  • All of the players were Asian: 4 CHN (Siming Chen, Fu, Ge, Yuying), 3 TPE (Wanling, Chia Chen, Hsieh)
  • All of the players had FargoRates over 700
  • Players move up in world ratings to fill the vacant positions accordingly
  • CJ Margaritondo, Valeriya Popova, Christy Norris, Chelsea Hoyt, Jessika Nilsson, Maryann McConnell, and Aleksandra Guleikova are added as #94 - #100

Top 100 USA:
  • Sky Woodward (801) overtakes Mike Dechaine (801) to become the #2 rated player in the USA
  • No players were removed from the national ratings

Top 100 USA - Female:
  • 2 of the top 100 female players in the USA have been removed from the national ratings
    • Natalie Stanton (#80) and Ashea Gray (#100)
  • Amy Yu and Stacy Novack are added as #81 and #44 respectively to fill the vacant positions
    • Neither player was on the list of top 100 US females until now


I've attached some pics of stats for the removed players from a few days ago. Any thoughts on these changes? 🤔

To appear in the top ranking lists, a player needs to have a certain number of recent racks in the system. I think that if you searched specifically for the "missing" players you would find that they still have ratings about the same as when they went missing. They have been deleted from the Top 100 lists due to inactivity.

Do you happen to know the number of games and the time frame in which those games had to have happened?
 
I think Mike posted that it is 300 games in the system in the last 2 years.
Aaaah, no wonder I haven't been showing up the in the top 100 world list. Explains everything. And here I had been, always thinking I must not be...
 
the chinese are still stuck in china. some of them have stayed active by switching to chinese 8-ball, some haven't. i guess time will tell what speed they'll be at when let loose
