Big names missing from DCC

They opened up the registration yesterday and from what I see there are only 5 open spots left in the 9 ball at this time and darn near every big player missing from the list. Am I missing something as to why they aren't going to the Derby this year?

I'm going on memory here, but I believe that, because the DCC 9ball is a WNT rankings event, the higher ranked WNT players are all guaranteed a spot if they wish one. I'd venture a guess that the Top 64 by WNT rank are guaranteed a spot should they want one but really do not know exactly how it works. I'd guess that all former DCC 9ball champions are, similarly, guaranteed a spot.

That might make more sense, maybe there are 64 spots reserved and counted towards the final number that I am seeing

Looks like many of the same and really good usual suspects - I'm getting a chuckle out of some of the guys that apparently want their nickname as part of the official entry but not in a bad way, lol. Still, if you have to tell them your nickname . . . but maybe it's a thing and more power to 'em!

Fedor Gorst is not on the list. Surely, the guy who has won three of the last four "Master of the Table" titles will be there.

Yeah and a bunch of the Pinoys. No Woodward either
Looks fishy. 2025 Bigfoot winner Labutis not on the list. 2025 Banks and One Pocket winner Gorst not on the list. The only player that won an event in 2025 that appears on the list is 9ball champion Filler. Two guys who have won plenty of money over the years at the Derby are Lee Van Corteza and Roberto Gomez. Neither they nor 2025 9ball runnerup Pagulayan are on the list. Polish stars Zielinski, Konrad J, and Mieszko Fortunski, have been fixtures at the Derby for years. Not one of them is on the list, although fellow Polish player Sniegocki is listed. Jesus Atencio had a top five in the 9ball in 2025, and he is not listed. Woodward is a former Master of the Table and several time winner of the banks ring game and he is not listed.

Isn't the list showing people who have registered and paid?

Maybe many of the above are "in" but just haven't paid yet and have until "x" date to pay the fee?

Just a guess.

Yeah, that might be it, but there are almost 500 entries listed without those who are "in but unpaid." Add them all together and we are looking at the biggest ever field in the 9ball event.
