Big Thank You to Nathan Dumoulin & Mika Immonen. Not a full review

Thank for creating an awesome trilogy of DVD's Mastering Pool.
For anyone that is thinking about of getting any of these DVD let me put this way: This is a great tool that been added to anyone's toolbox of information on pool.

Nathan : Thank you with the great production value & the your crew. The production value is top notch & the 3d is great. This is invaluable considering I am a visual learner. Sometimes a paragraph of words will not cut it!

Mika: Thank you for being on this project and demonstrating what CAN be done on a pool table. Oh and Mika *HONK HONK!* (dvd inside joke).

My reason to get all dvd's :I need a quick reference that I op into my dvd player and watch when not playing. Each lesson is referenced each other later on. Also each volume builds on another. All lesions are easy to go back and for between each.

My only additions I would like to see: On the playing conditions chapter: Maybe find an older Canada Billiard table that has wear and tear and showing how the same shots will react ?

Thank you again

Warren

This is just a guess, but it might be the person who posted two hours before you on this thread, since their name is "Nathan." Since he is a member of this forum, you may be able to PM him.

I am curious. Do you work for Dragon Promotions, Inc.? :)

Mika is one of my favorite players, so I bought the 3 DVDs set.

It was very enjoyable, but not for advanced players at all. The whole deal is geared towards beginners and intermediate players at best, IMHO.

The series is geared towards the average player. If you consider that the average player is a casual league player, then concepts such as throw, transferred english, multi-rail kicking systems, and aggressive safeties can easily be considered 'advanced'.

But in all fairness, you're right. For someone such as yourself who's probably been playing for years and is quite proficient on a table, the series holds little value (other than entertainment).

For this reason I'm contemplating creating 2 new more advanced volumes to the series. This is not a certainty, but is being given some serious consideration.

Thanks for your input. :)

yeah nathan you will probably find there is quite a market for a real advanced DVD (or set).

when you consider that the majority of your marketing (or a good proportion of it) is done online through the likes of AZBilliards, a lot of the people on these sites are students of the game and proficient already.

nevertheless I will be purchasing the final part of the current trilogy early next year - the free clips have me sold on it.

If your profits prevail (which I'm sure they will, without doubt) and you're needing a PA, please let me know. An advanced level instructional, especially from the hottest player in the game right now, is something this industry is sorely lacking. I really hope Efren makes something before he...umm..dies? :o

God, how many people do I know are desperately transferring their old VHS collections to DVD...? lol
