CSI has switched to Cyclops. DCC did this year. Watching this year's Amway, Cyclops (not a surprise there,as the bales are made in mainland China, and the company he is in Taiwan.

Is Cyclops the future of big play, and is Aramith on the way out now? Discuss.

I have a set of super aramith pros for my bar table and the new aramith duramith tournament set for my big box. They are both great. I played in the Vegas bca event over the summer and they provided the cyclops balls. Those were good too. After many hours of play with each set, for me,you can't go wrong with any of these. No need to split hairs IMO.

I think it more of a new ball maker under cutting the competition. These balls are made in china and seem very cheaply priced compared to aramith .Haven't played with them and don't like the colors but when it comes to money and if cycops is selling for 150.00 for 10 or more and tournaments needing 200-300 sets of balls well a hundred off a set compared to aramith is 20-30 thousand!

The owner of CSI has an interest in Diamond so no surprise there. The man behind the Derby owns Diamond, so again no big surprise. You mentioned a connection with the third example.

What market penetration Cyclop will get in major events going forward will depend on alliances and Diamond's willingness to step up and pay for the exposure just like Aramith does and table sponsors and rack sponsors do. Diamond's track record in marketing it's products via sponsorship/support of tournaments and pro pool is very impressive so I expect the Cyclop balls share of this segment to grow.

Cyclops are great and it will be soon a staple. When pool rooms are struggling to buy new balls, they will resort to this alternative. It is cost effective and to truly enjoy a set of Cyclops is long term play. They keep clean.
