Biggest money game you've played or seen

in person it would be the dcc svb vs appleton in 8ball. cant remember the amt but there are pics of the cheese stacked up on the light if you search around the derby forum on azb.

ive also seen two D players who knew each other playing 2k a game 6ball. They both would both shoot 2-3 times on each ball. They would play all the time and regularly pass 15-20k back and forth to each other. Both were drug dealers and both had a posse with them so there was no chance someone was making off with the dough without a big fight. I still recall them playing a race and its double hill and they both fired 5 or 6 times at the 6. Finally one player hangs it up and the other player then makes the ball and scratches. LOL and all the real pool players are sitting there watching this go down. It looked like a packed house at the dog pound with 100 salivating dogs staring at a barrel of ground beef that none could get at.

$80k

$80K on one game of barbox eight ball around 1980. One guy was named Steve, the other one Hu. Told the story on here a few times. Since it was a spur of the moment thing we were both on air and honor that night. We were both in position to pay off in the near future however.

Longest game of barbox eight ball I ever played. I could move the cue ball around considerably better than the other player so I figured if I won the lag I was in pretty good shape unless Steve got lucky. I won the lag and soft broke leaving the table in a mess. Steve's best shot was rebreaking the balls but he didn't. After that it was a very careful twenty-thirty minutes of picking things apart by both of us. No rash moves, more like one pocket.

I won and lost. I won the game but a few weeks later the Fed's ran Steve out of town, still owing me the entire $80K.

My buddy beat a local guy that might be an APA 5 playing 6 ball for $5k a game. I have tried to get a couple players to play the guy but no one ever wants to get down. He will still bet this much if not more.

Have any members watched a BIG MONEY game of pool ? I mean upwards of $ 100,000. or more. Please recall where ,when and players or gamblers involved. There should be some great stories!!!

I'm a bit at a loss to the question and some of the answers. Darren Appleton and Dennis Hatch just played for 40 dimes in the middle on TAR and finished up last night/this morning.

A bunch of us on AZBilliards were in attendance for several hours of the Cooney/Walden 1-pocket 8-ahead match several years ago at the Derby City Classic, and that was 100 dimes total.

AZBilliards members Cubc and OMGWTF battled it out in Las Vegas and on live TAR Stream for 3 dimes a piece (6 on the lamp).

At the Derby City Classic just this year there must have been over a dozen matchups with over ten large in the middle. With a few into the thirty or more range.

And, it certainly isn't speculation or hype. Some of us werre entrusted to hold the stake, since the participants weren't allowed to put it on the lamp.

He's the one to watch ...

I've seen Tony Watson play some guy from Florida a 20 ahead match for 20K...Tony won !

Tony is (was) a great road player for the cash ... I've never
seen him play for really large money, but stories abound as to
his abilities at extracting huge sums of cash from "whales" who
think they can play.

I watched Lil' John Macias play 9-ball for 20K at the Billiards Palace in Tulsa a few years ago, that's the biggest I've witnessed.
