Biggest Spot Ever Witnessed?

That's RIDICULOUS

I once played $20 per game one-pocket against Richie Richeson getting 20-3 each game....

Yeah, I don't play one-pocket but if I got that spot, I would have to bet my house since if I lost, I'd kill myself anyway.

I've seen Stevie Moore walk into Rackem in Matthews NC and give anybody the six and out and the breaks and he took the cheese, also Junior was In Charlotte a few years ago giving the same bet and I think the starting bet is 100 a game. Leonard

Abe Rosen, grand old man of pool, and a mentor to Johnny Ervolino, used to ask for 99 on the wire in a straight pool race to 100 as well as a provision that there would be no deductions for his scratches.

The catch was that Abe shot every shot with the sharp end of a pencil. Abe usually won. I believe Abe would have turned 100 this year if he'd lived.

biggest spot??? We have C5 Galaxy (cargo) planes at our local air guard, and when they practice dropping things (supplies, Hummers, tanks, etc.) they usually have BIG targets on the ground....there are probably bigger, but that's all I got.

Unbelievable

I was four games up ($80) when the room was closing, we bet $60 on the
last game. A crowd of about 50 people on their way out had stopped to sweat the game. I took a crowd pleasing flyer shot, in hopes of making the cover of Billiards Digest and missed.
Richie ran 7 'n out....... I won $20

I hear ya. Bet the house, but never bet the COOK...
Doug
( I can't begin to tell you how many times I've killed myself )

A player named Daryl shot a guy and the spot was all the breaks and any ball wins....the guy got disgusted after 4 or 5 games and quit...to dumb to even make a ball on the break and win,,,it was a laugher..... j :p

I challenged a local guy in our pool room to run 6 balls, one handed, standing on one leg, with pocket reducers in the pockets.

He did it.

big spot

i watched ronnie wiseman give a guy a spot on a bar table , don't recall what it was but he had to play with one of those giant cues that they use on a 6x12 snooker table. i think they are about 8 feet long:eek: . funny. there was one spot where the cue would hit the wall. he got the money to by the way.

May not be the biggest, but I thought it was huge. In 2001 at Q-Masters I saw Corey Deuel give some guy the breaks and ball in hand after the break playing 1P.

I'll tell you what the biggest and strangest spot I ever saw offered: I saw George "Ginky" Sancouci once offer a decent local NYC player who was roughly "B" speed this 9-ball spot: All the B player had to do to win each game was make the lowest numbered ball on the table hit the head cushion! The B player refused saying "If Ginky's offering any spot then he knows he can win with it."

Bobby

I never saw it but i heard that there was a one pocket player who occasionally offered the spot that the only balls that counted for him were the ones that "you make in my pocket". If anyone knows who when or where, please post it.

sounds almost like

This sounds like the propsition bet that the rails are your pocket, all you have to do is make each ball hit the rail in numerical order till you shoot the nine to a rail in which case you win and I will remove each ball that hits a rail right after the shot . I intern have to play regular 9 ball shooting them into the pockets to win. want to try that for 100 a game? Leonard

2-3 years ago Cliff came to town and gave one of the locals 14-14 for like $400 a game. Up one game, Cliff took 3 intentional scratches and then ran 17 & out on the guy.

The same thing happe3ned the second game, 17 & out.

Third game, 17 & out.

The guy continued to play and go off. App. 8 games total. The funny part is after the third consecutive 17 & out, the local rarely even looked at his side of the table. He later called Cliff the luckiest man on the planet. LMAO.

Geez always reading stories like these makes one be careful to place bets.:D
