Ok, tonight after the weekly 9ball tournament a guy i shoot pool with and who is basically same playing level as me wanted to play for some money, nothing big, so we just did race to 9 for $10. And at first i was like i dunno i only have X about of money on me. So my friend was like i will give you 4 games and all the breaks. Well needless to say i took it and beat him 9-1,9-2, and 9-8.

The only reason he made it close the last game was i was playing like crap. But anyways when we got done, i told him, that i would have played him even lol. But i just wasnt in the mood to gamble.

But it made me laugh cuz he pissed away 30$ on a bet he could never win lol.

Now i have seen the posts where people talk about seeing outrageous spots, But now i wanna hear about the ridiculous spots you have been given, from someone who wanted to play you very badly.

I would love to contribute but noone has ever wanted to play me that bad. :p

Right now there might be a line forming. LOL In my prime I got weight playing one pocket which I needed, 10-7 is my largest spot. I've asked for weight in other games even from a pro player but they wasn't giving. When I knew little there was probably some dumb spots but I don't remember.

I've been through most all, line forms at the end.

I was given the 5,6,7,8, and 9 by Randy Vaughn one time for $2 a game. (We were just messing around, but nonetheless, I got drilled)

9-6 one pocket , I had to make 9 my opponent had to run 6 ( 6 no count)

12 - 4 one pocket

I get opposite corners in one pocket my opponent just has the regular one pocket

my opponent played 30 no count 14.1 I played normal

Race to 9 for $10. Where the hell did you learn how to gamble? You won three sets and made $30, but how much was pool time? I'm sure playing those 3 sets took at least an hour or more.

My most regretable spot.

One time (about 35 years ago) while just hanging out at the pool room I wanted to try out a new spot that I had been thinking about. I offered this other player who played about the 8 under me - the 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 but I got 2 innings to his normal 1. He was flat broke so I offered to lend him $2 and play for 50 cents a game. Bottom line (after many hours and raises) - I lost $180. For any locals reading this - it was Neal Schlink at Affton Billiards.

I played a guy one pocket he gave me 12-4. He beat me playing with my cue! :o. You guys know him as cheneye pete(spelling?)lol.

Just last night, I............

Just last night, I gave a fellow 12 to 4, the break, his break scratches didn't count, and I had to play 2 or no count. We played for $500 a game and put up for 2 games. How do you think I liked it as he broke the first game, made a ball and 2 more, then played a good safety?

Now, he is bad but I am beginning to think, nobody is that bad!

Bottom Line - It took over 3 hours, But OldHasBeen "GOT THE CHEESE".

this wasnt really a spot but i watched Niels F. playing a kid with deap trust fund pockets and gott the kid down many thousands after playing every game you could ever think of on a pool table and giving all the weight
anyone could ever ask for .

finally i hear the kid asking for a chance to win his money back
by playing foosball

anyone thats ever been to europe in the military can tell you the out come of that

the 5 and out from Ginky...and I lost my ass...Well not me...
No, seriously, Curt knows about Ginky and the 5 and out...HAHA

Best and biggest spot I have ever got? I would have to say a 4 game spot and last to balls race to seven playing 9ball for 50 a set. TY ALVIN want to play again anytime just call me LOL

Never been offered the right spot for the cash. Other players have asked me if I ever gamble on pool and I say, "I won't gamble but I will play for some money if the right game comes along."

I'm not quite understanding this one... when you say "opposite corners" do you mean diagonal opposites?

I too have gotten he 5 and out from Ginky about
6 or 7 years ago and I got drilled. I got only two
offensive opportunities in the whole set: I ran out
on one of them, and the other I ran a few a and
missed.

We also played straight pool where he had to run 65
no count to win and I had to make 30 balls and then
make 3 banks after the 30. I made the 30 and got one
bank then played safe, he out safed me, ran 55 balls,
but got stuck, so he played safe and two innings
later ran 65 for he win. A couple years later I saw
him give another B player the same spot and Ginky
ran the 65 and then kept going and eventually ended
up with a run of 252 which I believe is still his
high run.

Hmm, biggest spot I have seen would be that one player HAD to make the 9-ball in a side pocket. The place where the 9-ball went on the breakl was crucial and brought a whole other level of game where not only potting the ball and playing shape with the proper angle on the next was key but now knocking the 9 out into the center of the table was also critical. It also gave the weaker player the easy chances to move the 9 back into tough spots when he had to. Potting the 9 in any other pocket for the spotting player was a loss of shot. It was a brutal spot, the best player got drilled by a far weaker player (who could still nevertheless run racks).

First off i dont like to gamble, everyone and thier brother tries to get me to play for money, but i just dont go for it. And as for how much it cost me for table time, i think it was like 3$,(cost at the pool hall i frequent is 2$ per hour) because the first two sets, was done while we was warming up for a tournament so it didnt cost anything. And Not everyone likes to play for $500 a set, or whatever big money it may be.

plus, i didnt make the bet, it was offer'd to me, i think i only had maybe 20$ on me so if i for some reason happen to lose two sets i am done, no big deal.

And it amazes me at how people dog someone when they gamble for stupid stuff, like race to 9 for 10$. Well if you want i can set up a game for you with someone i know, i am sure he would take 500$ a set anyday.

Biggest spot

I wasn't getting it, but the biggest spot I ever saw was 'a good hit'. No kidding.
The guy with the spot lost.

In 1996, Ginky wanted to play me straight pool and asked for 20 ball spot on a race to 100, but he'd have to shoot every shot behind his back. I wasn't feeling very daring that day, so I declined. I have always wondered whether I'd have won that bet!
