Bob still plays league and such in Dallas. I hope he makes it too. His son Gary plays really good too and so does his brother Cigar Tom.

Bob is the only player to ever run out the set (It's winner breaks) and he did it in the finals!! Bob also won it 8 times.

There will be an 8 team Pro AM Scotch tournament at Skinny Bob's, Thursday August 30th before the Texas Open to raise funds for St Jude Childrens Research Hospital. If you are interested in playing with one of the Pro's, come to Skinny Bob's on Thursday August 30th at 7pm. We will auction off a chance to play with one of these guys. Race to 5/5

We are doing the BCAPL Southwest Regional on the same dates.
Being held at Fort McDowell just outside Phoenix.

BTW - are you using the Magic Ball Rack (MBR)?

The tables will have new Simonis 860 HR Blue Tournament Cloth. Super Aramith Pro balls and we will be using the Magic ball rack.

Players get in free and everyone else is $25 for all three days or $10 a day. Please let anyone that plans on coming to watch you play know this. Cash only at the door.

Our 39th Annual Texas Open Custom T- shirts will be on sale 2 for $35 or $20 each while supplies last. Collar shirt required or 39th Annual Open T-Shirt, long pants and no open toed sandals.

We have a special rate with Candlewood Suites 512-828-0899 just tell them you are playing in the Texas Open at Skinny Bob’s Billiards “The Key Word is OBT” and you only pay $48 + tax a night for 1 queen size bed and $68 + tax for a one bedroom suite which includes a fold out couch.

The event will be streamed on PoolActionTV.com Online coverage will be complete event. Event Pass to watch online is $25 or $10 per day.

I love looking at this list...lotta history.
At the '89 trade show in Nashville, Sammy Jones showed me a 1-pocket
3 times across shot that was worth the price of the trip.

First time I saw Richie Ambrose...he came 4rth in a tournament...got
killed by Mike Sigel...he just never got to the table.
I liked the way he was waiting for a shot, like a puma lying, waiting for
his prey.
Not surprising to me, a little later he won $50,000 playing 9-ball.....
...a tough cookie.
