As JAM would say, "dag nab it!"

I just this morning saw that Bill was looking for concise descriptors from az members about Fast Larry's personality and as as an authority on the history of our sport.

I went and poured a cup of coffee and came back for what I knew was going to be a fun thread to read.

There were 8 pages and so I began.

By the bottom of page 1 I had already laughed out loud liker 5 times.

There were responses like "Fast" and "He has a bad relationship with his dog." :grin-square:

Went to go to page 2 and it was removed.

the entire thread is gone.

now what do I read.

best,

there must have been some new comments that brought it back up.

And so I would have to guess they were pretty bad that the thread was shut down.

Brian,

I agree with Mark Griffin regarding the pulling of threads. If the subject matter turns to personal threats, insults or outright fabrications, oh well. To pull a thread because the person was or said something controversial, allows the hidden keyboard jockeys to win. Perhaps my skin is too thin from time to time. I'd rather read something negative than to have someone praise me to my face while stabbing me in the back. Fast Larry Guninger managed to put a smile on my face from time to time. Sometimes the subjects were just unbelieveable as were his statements. He sure was one of a kind! Or was it several?

Lyn;

Over the years I have contributed to some threads where I put an awful lot of time and effort in only to see them spiral downward and get removed.

The feeling I got when that happened was pure frustration.

I have alwas said that when people act up in a thread or if a thread, in general, goes south, maybe close it but leave it up so we can still access it for reference.

And if a member goes way overboard in what they post, maybe remove that post, and even the poster if warranted.

But keep the thread!

hopping off the soapbox.

For sure, Larry is a one of a kind type of guy. You can still find him on fb.
