Interesting ...

I?d rather see this idea come to attrition, than to sit on it till I die. I just don?t have the money to make it come true. I?m only hopeful that one of you can make it happen.
I?m not sure if anyone of you know what a ?geodesic dome? home is, but, I thought ?what a facility to hold a pool tourney in?.
A 5/8ths sphere, 52 feet inside diameter on the parallels.
The inside would have multiple levels, all levels to have the ability to watch the action below.
Cameras at every ring level, to have optimum view.
Displays on each level, showing what you couldn?t see while at that level.
It?d be like watching a match from within the cue ball you?re shooting.
Think about it.
I find your idea interesting, since I was interested in 'Geodesic' dome homes for about 2 years, and toured many of them within a 40 mile
range of my location. This was before my ex-wife Linda and I had
a home built (which I designed).
It could be feasible, but I think only for tournaments up to 32 players, possibly 64, but no larger. It would be more economically feasible, to
just have a place, probably rectangular, that was organized, perhaps,
with a few private rooms, and an upstairs, where railbirds could overlook
the action. It is hard for a room to offer 'everything' for the range of players and railbirds in the way of playing and viewing matches.
I think the few private rooms lend themselves to private money matches,
with only a few railbirds to watch, while the upstairs can provide good
viewing of overall action going on in the main room. There should be
2-4 table areas that are orgainized like tennis stadiums, only on a
smaller scale for spotlight matches. Another observation I have made
too, is that rooms start out with good attentive service (waitresses),
but over time, the level of service goes downhill to where you can not
get a table cleared, a refill on a drink, or you have to go track down
someone to wait on you, or you end up waiting an excessive amount of time for food or drink.
Black Balled - You get Kudos for mentioning one of my favorite subjects, Pool shoes. I have emailed both Nike and Reebok about this subject, and if they can not see the marketing potential for this, it is their loss. From
serious to novelty readily identifiable Pool shoes, with the overwhelming
possibility for them to become a fad, especially for High School and College
aged youth, the potential market is definitely there.
