Whats your Favorite? Whats out there?

Personally I think Jonny Langs "Rack'em up" is a pretty good track. :o

delete - my song reminded me of pool, but wasn't pool related. oops!

The opening music to "The Color of Money". That always get's me thinking of pool. Only I don't know the name of the song or artist.

"Dirty Pool" by Stevie Ray Vaughn, some clever lyrics within. Not sure if it was ever released as a studio track but he played at Montreux Jazz Festival in the early 80's. "Here's a little song I wrote myself". About 8 minutes of excellent blues. It's the infamous performance where he was booed loudy (but played his full set). Audience wasn't very bright.

Bob Seger's "Turn the Page." Enough said.
Wow, never really realted the song to pool until you just mentioned. A lot of similarities. Thanks for putting that in my mind.

Shoot to Thrill, AC/DC

...and the aforementioned Dirty Pool or anything by SRV.

MM

(wonder if SVB listens to SRV?)

Pool Hall Richard by the Faces
featuring Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood is the best friggin pool song money can buy!!!

Sweatin' hard, I didn't get a shot
All I did was stand around and get too hot
Knowin' all the people walkin' on my side
Losin' all my money and I'm killin' time
Ol' Bill he come a-runnin' like he's gettin' some
Makes you kind of jealous but it sure is fun
I don't mind but he wants my lady too

You know the crowd gets bigger
As the word goes 'round
Pool Hall King was playin' back in town
Minnesota Fats standin' up at the back
Tryin' to hide himself in a plastic mack
You ought to hear the silence
When the kid walks in
His reputation's bigger than gasoline
I don't mind but he's tryin' to fill my lady too, ha ha

Pool Hall Richard
You're far too wicked we know, ha
Pool Hall Richard
Kid you're wicked, we know
You broke more hearts
Than a gigolo could ever do

With your yellow carnation
And your pink satin suit
You make me jealous, but I worship you
One day soon I'm gonna beat you clean
Wipe that smile right off your chin
Everybody gonna drive from miles around
Queueing up to see me take away your crown
Then you'll never never ever take my lady then

Get out

Pool Hall Richard
You're far too wicked we know, ha
Pool Hall Richard
Kid you're wicked, we know
You broke more hearts
Than a gigolo could ever do

Dig this

Bam goes the brown, that's another one down
Know they play much better when the sun goes down
Bang goes the green, you're so obscene
Your hands are dirty but your scent is clean

Bam goes the blue, lock away your cue
The Pool Hall King is hustlin' you
Bam goes the 8-ball, didn't see it spin at all
This kid can play, oh yeah

Bam goes the brown, ooh another one down
Know they play much better when the sun goes down
Bang goes the green, you're so obscene
Your hands are dirty, your scent is clean

Damn the pink, one more to sink
Gonna beat you someday
'Cause you're makin' me sick
Down on the black, at the back of the pack
Aw, you nearly missed, you ain't so hot

Pool Hall Richard
Kid you're wicked, we know
You broke more hearts
Than a gigolo could ever do

You're breakin' my heart
But you're stealin' my tart, no no no
Shut up

Rod Stewart also references pool in three other songs. Even in "Maggie May," he speaks about making a livin' outta playin' pool. He actually played pretty sporty in his youth. My uncle was a DJ in Asheville, and spent almost a week with Rod, Jeff Beck and Ron Wood. I had the chance to meet Stewart. Wild mutha back in the day (early 70's). I was about seven. He spent a lot of time gambling and playing when he was in his late teens and early twenties until he "made it." So he says. Just a little info.

When I am gambling at the pool room I like to listen to Warewolves of London, while twirling my cue all around in a shirt with my name on the front, wearing my best platform pool shoes, as I wait for L. Ron Hubbard to return in the space ship.:D

I turn on something hard something like slipknot or old metallica to get the adrenaline coursing threw the veins

Yeah, Werewolves Of London from Warren Zevon, thats the right one ;-)

Also Breathe Me from Sia (Six feed under soundtrack), or America from Falco (Austrian song and singer, but i think everybody here knows him (Amadeus was a famous song))

Oh yeah, and "Sink the Pink" from AC/DC, forgot about that one. Not a lot of lyrics there (obligatory "rack 'em up" and whatnot) but I remember the video from ages ago had a lot of pool shots in it.

Of course, "Bad to the Bone" (featured in every G-rated dog-themed movie ever made) had George Thorogood shooting pool throughout its video, and sinking the eight of the basis of a cigar ash hitting the floor.
