Billiard torrent?

I can "somewhat" understand people privately, to themselves, making their own decision about what they are going to buy versus download, whether it be music MP3s, some TV shows, or pool videos. Anyway it happens. What I can't understand are people who then not only try to publicly justify those actions with weak excuses, but even insult the very people who invested the time to make the pool videos in the first place.

Copyright laws are actually quite lax in Canada (where I live), much more so in the USA (though they are under review and may change). But even if it were legal for me to copy something produced by a pool entity, I don't understand the mentality behind mocking them for it, nor begrudging them a profit. How nitty is that?!

Uwate

If your dog can hunt and you know the dark side then everything on the net is a free down load. But I must warn amatures, Russia crack sites can be a double edged sword.
I might surprise u on how well my dog hunts on topsites and irc. Not pool mind you, I have 350+ real accustats vhs tapes. Support what you truly love, dont just take.

Last I checked accustats isn't a torrent.

Nice way to be a smart arse.

Dude relax. If you want a link to free stuff that others have devoted their life to documenting, expect some ribbing. I'd rather be a smart arse than a freeloader.

1) guys stop that flame please. Some of us will never accept file-sharing idea, others have different opinion. Neither of the two groups will ever persuade the other and change their point of view. So it is just a waste of time and effort for both. I can just say that the matter is much more complicated than everyone mentioned here, and the music world is already trying to adjust.

2) those of you who want to try dealing with billiard torrents and ask for a link in pm, better search the forum by "tracker" string. I know only one working tracker that tracks enough torrents but believe me it is a crappy place. Just because the tracker admin has no idea of how a real tracker should work. For a good reason, it has been ages since something new appeared there.

This thread kills me, U12 has been looking for something for a while and no one knows where to find it, if they did he would buy the tape. So he asks for another place to look and it turns into this.

U12, pm me which tapes you have looked at. I think I may have a couple old Buddy Hall tapes, if you havent already checked them Ill see if I can find them and check for you.

Thanks Woody.

I'm still not sure what tape it's on. I just know it's not on any videos of Buddy Hall by himself.

What I'm looking for is that shot he shoots where he cuts a ball in the corner pocket, and he hits the cue ball at 7 oclock. The english hits the first rail and then reverses off the second rail and goes 3 rails to get shape.

It's a great shot and pretty to look at.

And you are correct, if someone said I have the tape and it's xyz, then I would paypal that to them.

Actually that is a video of Buddy Hall by himself. It's called "9 Ball Position Play". It's a very nice shot, and you need a good table with decent cloth and good rails to pull it off.

As someone who made their living as a musician for a dozen or so years I would say this. It that site was legit, there would be no need to 'cloak and dagger' PM it. If it didn't illegally have copyrighted material it would be an easily findable, reputable download site where people wouldn't have to worry about viruses. Sure there might be a few non-copyrighted videos there, just like there are some non-copyrighted mp3's at music torrent sites but generally those are the 'needle' in the proverbial 'haystack' of stolen material. Okay, maybe there is something that you can't buy anymore (which with ebay and amazon marketplace chock full of private sellers, I find hard to believe), maybe you have hit the gray area, but buy visiting torrent sites you are supporting someone who by and large is dealing in theft.

Now that I am back in school I am surrounded by college kids that have no shame in the fact that their iPod is full of stolen music. I had friends that even griped when the RIAA sued the largest of the offenders calling it unfair and bemoaning the 'large greedy corporations that screw over the little man' not realizing they are the 'little greedy individuals who form a big mass that screw over the artist'. I have had some interesting conversations to say the least.

I will say this. The Beatles albums became so large in production that they didn't tour for their last few albums. It was literally impossible to stage such a production (or so they thought...the Fab Faux have shown it can be done). Thank God we didn't have torrnets at the time because the studio wouldn't have financed a couple of those albums if they didn't see a financial return on their investment and we would have been screwed out of some amazing music.

*off his soapbox*

If pool creators, artist etc that make product for a profit, they should have a set limit of how much to make and then share the rest with the common broke public Or drop the price so the common broke public can afford it and they still make good amount of money. But that's not the point here, the point is everyone wants to be a millionaire.

Another thing is most people use torrents to review a product, you can't trust review sites these days because most of them are paid off and show favoritism.

Anyhow, can someone please PM me the torrent link. Thanks.

EDIT: So the beatles were so rich they didn't feel the need to tour? So much for the faithful fans (that sent there last dime) who wanted to see there favorite artist at concert.

What profession can you name where a person sets a certain bar for income and then works the rest of the year for free? Your right, everyone does want to be a millionaire, that is the american way and that is what fuels creativity among the masses.

You can say people use torrents to review a product and some do, but the vast majority of the people I know find convenient ways to not end up paying for something that they already illegally got for free.

And you totally didn't understand my last paragraph. The Beatles weren't so rich they didn't feel the need to tour. Their albums became so sonically large and intricate that they couldn't logistally actually play them live up on stage. I like your attempt at demonizing them as hurting their faithful fans in an effort to validate the theft of other people's copywritten material, but in this case your argument is invalid.

Oh, and Berzerk....be thankful that you don't work in a field where your hard work and dedication results in a product that can be easily duplicated and stolen. Having to rely on people following the law and doing the right thing morally really sucks, actually.
