Billiards Digest article on Morra's switch to shooting left handed

He’s a great DJ as well. Sent me some tracks a few years ago. Solid.

He plays snooker very strong as well.

I’m happy he made the switch, that’s a lot of work and talent. Lots more of him to come. Great $ player as well

John Morra is amazing. Best ambidextrous player on the planet!

Hey, my son beat Jayson Shaw playing with both hands LOL

Funny thing during that match, when he swapped hands, he just put on a second glove so when he won the match he ended up using two pool gloves and it really amused some people.

He played for years with right hand only, but because he was left eye dominant he did not feel good with lining up even on the shot with a good arm position. Just decided to learn to play lefty and is now a 630 Fargo and plays even on both sides.

John is a really strong player and so was this guy that went from right to left and beat almost everybody with either hand. He played all the games at a championship level speed, but One Pocket was his thing. Cecil Tugwel

The article mentions Tugwell- states that he couldn’t play properly with his right arm after a car accident

There is no doubt John plays lights out left handed but the best on the planet?!?!?

Maybe in pool but Ronnie O’Sullivan can spot him the 6 out when it comes to playing opposite handed.

Perhaps so if you want to extend the discussion to all cue sports- perhaps he was just referring to pool

On the planet encompasses all cue sports. Ronnie can’t play pool as well as the top guys but he certainly can play both handed in pool.

I would give any cue sports person a 100 trys to pot this shot (not to mention it for a 147 and the match frame!!!!) and they would be lucky to make it twice!!!

Again John is a hell of a player and a true gentleman of the game and I’m not insulting him but…..

There is something absolutely god like when Ronnie makes shots like this!! It’s inhuman and almost alien that he does what he does..

Just wow 🤩😳😳😳

Based on your adjectives that I bolded, it seems you are declaring Ronnie the best ambidextrous player in the UNIVERSE!!
Also: I'd agree.

Possibly!! He has yet to be challenged from any extraterrestrials that I know of. Or is he one himself 🤔

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.
One thing I noticed when shooting opposite-handed (wrong side of table…too lazy to reach for the rake): Stroke feels odd/clumsy, but I often still make fantastic shots. I wonder, if the resultant ‘strangeness‘ is thus beneficial, since though less practiced, there are fewer ‘bad habits’ that also transfer (?).

Interesting observation.

I can't relate. I'm so bad shooting left handed that I struggle to make a straight in 3 foot shot left handed.
