All My "Life's Lessons" Cost Me MONEY..... dammit !
I played some old guy some $5 8-ball and he took five minutes on every shot and acted as if $5 was all the money he had left in the world (I felt bad taking it and then quitting....but I saw my whole life passing by during that one 40 minute game of 8-ball.)
Well, this was a short, white haired old man, that took forever to decide on his shot and then he shot so slow and soft, that the ball just BARELY fell into the pocket. Most all of his shots were safeties and he seldom ever took a shot at actually making the damn balls.
One time, I was so bored that I played him again (I couldn't get in the Golf game) and he played safety after safety and took FOREVER. Finally he took a shot at making one of his balls and when it fell, I hurriedly pulled out a five dollar bill and said "Great Game, Nice Shooting" and ran out of there........... and he still had five more stripes on the table.
He looked confused.....HAPPY, but confused. It wasn't long after that, that I learned a lesson at Baker's Billiards.
NEVER, wake up an old man sleeping in a sweators chair and ask him if he'd like to play a few games for money.

(no wonder, they slept so soundly with a smile on their lips)

Johnnyt said:It sounds like you were playing CM Lee's dad. He was a millionare. I use to play him a lot of 3-cushion in there.
