Here is a photo of me warming up before the matches. For those that missed my long version of events, here is the recap.

John Schmidt broke and did not make a ball.
BillYards ran 6 and scratched.
John Schmidt ran out.
BillYards broke and ran 7 and scratched.
John Schmidt ran out.
Johnny Archer broke and did not make a ball.
BillYards ran 7 and choked on the 8.
Johnny Archer ran out.
BillYards broke and did not make a ball.
Johnny Archer ran out.

I certainly had my chances, but blew it!

And yes... that is my Black Boar!

Thanks for the update; must have been a tantalizing experience, getting so close.

Don't worry about us thinking any less of you; I think I can speak for most of us when I say we generally don't read your posts; just stare at the avatar for a few minutes, then move on (just kidding....sort of...well, it is a hot avatar, so sue me).
 
Here is a photo taken during the second game of my match against John Schmidt. I flub the leave coming off of the 9, so my next shot is the combination 14 - 11 in the corner. Then I drew back about 6" after shooting the 15 in the side and cut the 14 into the corner where the 11 was pocketed... I was playing to cut the 8 into that same corner, but I guess nerves made me shoot way too hard and I scratched in the side opposite of where I am standing in the photo.

Johnny and John (sitting out of photo to the right) both gave me polite finger snaps for the combination. They probably knew it was a miracle that I pocketed any balls with my hands shaking that much! Haha!

I now see that the proper shot was to cut the 14 in, but spin the cueball back to where my hand is in the photo to then pocket the 8.

Well... live and learn!

It took me awhile to realize it, but there is a picture of you and a pool table, too. I never make it past the avatar either.

You are well on your way to becoming a certified BCA instructor with that quick match math!

All of the locals had their butts handed to them that night. "Butt" it was still a lot of fun!
 
I'm envious of your experience in Puerto Rico, but I don't usually make it past your avatar either.:)
 
Good effort, even though you didn't win. Did you videotape any of the games? Maybe you could post them on youtube.

Yeah, I think I would choke and blow it playing up against those two Boobs as well...;)

I was unable to video the matches because the owner of Player's banned all cameras, including photo cameras. I was lucky to get these photos because a fellow AZer (my new friend Harold!) smuggled in a camera and took covert photos!

I did shoot well, I was just sad to go out like I did. I came so damn close.
 
Awesome pictures and great recap of the event.
I guess you will have to work on your game for the potential re-match.

Like BillYards said, the owner did not want anyone taking pictures or videos becuase it disturbed the "player's game."

If I hadn't smuggled my camera, there would have been practically no photos of the event.

Since I was in "covert operation" I had to watch for the owner's, his son's and the staff, although I was the Tournament Director. That's the reason why some of my pictures did not come out with "excellent quality."

Here's a picture of BillYards with his Black Boar. Right before his match with Archer. BillYards and I had a great talk that night, and we guzzled a couple of "Smirnoff Ice" that night. We also were "fighting" each other for the chance to pay for the "brewskys."

With his performance, BillYards was obviously the best challenge player of the event. I know, I was there watching and this is no "BS.".

Nobody won against Archer and Schmidt but BillYards performance was by far the best of any of the player's that challenged the Pros. Everyone was rooting for BillYards, and everyone was equally "disheartened" when he scratched on both matches against Schmidt because he was really doing so well.

BillYards and I discussed this issue right after his challenge matches and he was very humble about the entire experience. Obviously a little "distressed" but we fixed this glitch with a couple of "Smirnoff Ice"
