Biloxi Mike Murdered!!!!

I feel the same way JAM. I called the Ocean Springs police department and was not able to speak to the officer in charge of the investigation.

I asked that he return my phone call concerning this case. HE DID NOT RETURN MY PHONE CALL.

Joey

Well, then, that settles it. I will be one squeaky wheel.

They say the wheels of justice move slowly, but it seems to me like somebody's got the brakes on this murder investigation.

It's amazing with a little dissemination of the truth to the right ears will do. Stay tuned....

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Ocean Springs Police have released a surveillance photo showing the last person seen with Michael Surber before he was killed. The 54-year-old Surber was found dead at his home Thursday night.

Police say Jericho Cooper is a white man in this late 40s to mid 50s. He's about six feet tall and weighs between 175 and 185 pounds. He wears his receding hair pulled back in a ponytail, just below the collar.

Cooper is considered a "person of interest" in the case, and is wanted for questioning. He was last seen in the Jackson area on Sunday, November 15th. Police say he's known to frequent bars and pool halls.

If you have any information on Jericho Cooper's whereabouts, call the Oceans Springs Police Department at (228) 875-2211, or your local law enforcement agency

Barb,

I wanted to e-mail LT John Flowers the letter I have written to "America's Most Wanter" because, as is business etiquette, his name and phone number is mentioned in my letter. I think I posted the aforementioned letter earlier in this thread.

When I called the Ocean Springs Police Department, it was because after going to their website, I discovered they have no e-mail on their contact information. I was informed that they have no e-mail capability. I had only wanted to forward LT Flowers the letter I have written with his name in it.

I left a message with the telephone operator at the police department to give to LT Flowers my e-mail address, hoping he would e-mail me. Then I could e-mail him the letter.

If I don't hear from him, I will mail it today via postal snail mail. :o

Jen and Joey,

I called Lt. Flowers today to get permission from him to use his cell number to give to "America's Most Wanted". He said that would be fine. He never gets a chance to check his messages from the main police dept. line, since it's all he can do to keep up with his personal line.

So I'm assuming it would be okay to give out. It's at my office, so I'll have to send it to y'all tomorrow.

As far as your letter, why don't you fax a copy to them?

You're right about that, Joe. These criminal con types are very cunning-- always looking for a hook or an opening. The peculiar part is that the guy didn't play pool that day. He might not even play pool at all. He just came on to Mike through a gambling question, then later with an invitation for Mike to show him around the casinos.

One of your local pool players told me that there is a tape of the person of interest playing pool at Skeeters, that even the police haven't seen.

Some of the people that found Mike may have seen the tape according to what I heard.

I also heard that he was playing pool on a bar table with some local guys who come in once a week.

It's funny how information gets twisted. Now you're saying that this guy never played pool that day. I also heard that he asked Mike to gamble at pool stating that he only had $200 and Mike replied that he only had a thousand. Go figure. I wasn't there but I keep listening.

This is starting to remind me of the grade school game where the teacher gives a short concise sentence to the first sentence and it is whispered to the next studen and so on. By the time it gets to the last student, the sentence is so alien, that it doesn't resemble any portion of the original sentence. :frown:

The game is usually played with a circle of people and the person that started the statement is supposed to tell people when it gets back to them. It often makes several laps of the circle or is never stopped.

That is exactly the problem with little hard information getting out and word of mouth. None of us are tape recorders that play things back exactly and words mean slightly different things to different people.

All we know for sure is that a man is dead and another man is a person of interest to the police. He is probably a suspect without enough evidence to put out a warrant but that is purest speculation on my part. And the circle begins again . . . .

good point, first hand info is awalys the most reliable, each layer is father from the truth.

I am a local and i haven`t heard any anything about the guy actually playing pool but that doesn`t meen he wasn`t. All i know is that Doc and Jerry were there when Mike left with the guy. I got to Skeeters that day around 4:30 and Mike wasn`t there when i arrived. I asked Jerry where everyone was at and he said that Mike had left and would be back later. A few other locals came in later. 2 of them right after i got there and 1 more around 5-5:15. It is funny how information gets all out of whack when people start saying things they aren`t sure of or is here say. I can`t speak about anything that happened before i arrived but Doc has a pretty good account of what happened as he was there. I guess the moral of the story is don`t listen to here say but rather listen to the facts from people who know. And i do share your frustration Joey as do all of us who knew him. Bottom line is this guy needs to be caught so maybe we will finally find out what exactly happened.

These are silly rumors. The "person of interest" never played pool at Skeeter's. No one had ever seen him before. He had asked Mike and Jerry if they liked to gamble, then later said Mike was too good. My guess is that he did not want to play pool, but rather was just trying to learn if Mike had good amount of money on him.

For you and Jennie, and anyone else who may have information or other pertinent comments, here is Ocean Springs Lt. Flowers' private number: 228-219-7425.

There are at least 4 law enforcement agencies working on the investigation of this case: Ocean Springs PD, Gulfport PD, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshall's Service.

I believe they are all working very hard on this case.

god i just heard this i am deeply saddened. I had just talked with mike and i had bought a few cues from him over the years and he was a genuinely super nice guy. I was just talking with him a few weeks ago. I have his one pocket video from the dcc against cliff joyner and he was a great player. I am in shock!!! My thoughts go out to him and his family.

I also have a pic or two of some of his richard black cues if that helps anyone. I was going to purchase one from him just a couple weeks ago. Rip mike
