This is the "person of interest" who impersonated a man whose identity he stole named "Jericho Cooper."

This is "Biloxi Mike" Surber, a gentle, unassuming-type man. He just loved to play pool and was a gentleman, whether in action, in a tournament, or just playing for fun.

Please take an interest and vote. :sorry:

Together, we can help seek justice. :smiling-heart:

This is a no-shame bump of my thread!

length?

JAM,

It has been a long time since I have messed with domain names. Does the length keep you from using "biloxi_mike_surber"? That should let you have your cake and eat it too.

My feeling is that most "citizens" don't have the names of towns in their nickname so if you can only use one or the other I would use "mikesurber" just because he sounds more like a typical citizen then.

I'm not saying it is fair or right but I believe the best hope of getting justice for Mike is to make him sound like the gentleman he was that got killed not some some slightly shady sounding character named "Biloxi Mike".

In my many dealings with the law over the years, good and bad, I have found that how they perceived me was huge. As the neer-too-well pool player I usually got the shaft. As the upstanding local citizen who owned several businesses and gave back to the community and law enforcement itself I received every break they could give me. That isn't fair but it is definitely the way things worked.

If both domains are available get them both and lead them both to the same page.

I am going to create a website in an effort to seek justice for "Biloxi Mike" Surber.

Before I purchase the domain name, I want to ask you, readers of this forum, the biggest pool forum on the Internet, which domain name for a website would you choose.

Please take the time to vote. This will be a blind poll. So you lurkers can vote, too! :)

BiloxiMike-dot-com or MikeSurber-dot-com?
That's a good idea, Jen. Please Email or PM me, and I'll be happy to split the cost with you. Would it be your plan to post on that website all the available information, and the known status of the investigation?

I had written AMW, and also all the pertinent state reps, along with our Congressional Rep., Gene Taylor. Two of the state reps have already phoned me to say that they have contacted the authorities. They believe that law enforcement is working hard on this case, and I think that's true.

One of Mike's friends, an attorney who also occasionally posts here, opined to me that-- if in fact the U.S. Marshals Service is involved in the case, then that means that the "person of interest" is either an escaped prisoner, or on probation. Evidently those are two of the only criteria which would cause that agency to be involved.

So if that agency is involved, along with the FBI, and assuming they have ample finger prints; then I've got to imagine that they know exactly who this guy is. His name is certainly not "Jericho Cooper", although he's used that name on several occasions while trying to pass stolen credit cards with that name on them.

If we get this website up and running, I'll phone Lt. Flowers to ask him for information they'd be willing to share to put on the website.

Cool! This is good news, if there can be good news about this horrible tragedy. At least the wheels are in motion to seek justice by the proper authorities.

I too have written numerous letters, Doc. It's going to take more than that, I'm afraid, but I am still going to keep writing, especially to America's Most Wanted. Every single day, if I have to.

I am going to post up pictures on the website, as well as information. Down the road -- and this is just me thinking out loud, Doc -- we may be able to post up a reward for the capture that leads to a conviction of the perp. We need a big number, though. So this is another avenue for me to pursue, trying to contact those with deep pockets to post up a big reward.

That will get this rat out of the rat hole quickly. The rats he hangs with will want to get themselves a little cheese.

What do you think of this picture for the website? I'm still trying to come up with a theme. This is Biloxi theme.

I still kind of like the white dove. Is a religious theme too personal, like a place of worship?

I like this dove too. It represents goodness, the white dove.

I know of a couple spiritual hymns that I could put on the website for music, or maybe that would be too much and distract from the information.

JAM,

Non tourist images of Biloxi might be hard to come by and they are usually too bright and breezy for your purposes. I don't think you want to get too somber or focus on religious images either although one smallish one might be fine. I can't access them on this new Vista machine at the moment but I have hundreds of images from the gulf coast including Biloxi. The real catch is that I'm not sure where most were shot and the computer to extract them from is in storage at the moment until I finish my shop. No help at the moment but if copyright becomes an issue my photo's are available later, obviously at no charge for this project. I'll check again today and if I can figure out a way to view them on this Vista machine I'll try to find a few for your consideration now just to bypass any possible copyright issues.

I have several pre Katrina shots of that lighthouse and mansion as one example. I seem to remember the mansion being badly damaged or totally destroyed but I don't remember which and could be mistaken about either. I didn't have the heart to take many pictures of the damage after Katrina and I didn't want to seem like an insensitive tourist regardless.

That's what I'm talking about. Thanks so much for y'all providing some helpful advice! This is EXACTLY what I need.

You know, I'm not a web designer, but I can hunt and peck a wee bit in that arena.

I am going to use a template, and, of course, with Steve Booth's permission, I will use a couple of his photos of Mike Surber.

However, on the top, I was thinking I should have a picture of something. I don't think gambling or billiards would be a good theme. As Hu said, it might give the wrong impression to lay people (non-pool folk).

What do you think of this white dove in the sky as the header for the website? I think of goodness when I see it, but I'd be interested to read your thoughts.:)

Dot org if you can. Are those reserved for nonprofits? I'm not sure, but I would use that. If not the .info should be used.

My vote

The picture of Cliff in the electric chair watching Mike down on the table at the Derby would be a nice one. It is one of my favorites.
Thank you,
Nick :

What do these mean? I am thinking I should go with "info" too.

The following companies have been accredited by ICANN to act as registrars in one or more TLDs. The version of RAA (Registrar Accreditation Agreement) indicated after each registrar name designates which contract they have signed with ICANN. The 2009 RAA indicates that the registrar has signed the 2009 Registrar Accreditation Agreement, which provides enhanced protections for registrants and an increased level of accountability for registrars. The 2001 RAA is an older contract with fewer protections. Prospective registrants may want to take this fact into account when selecting a registrar for their gTLD name(s). The RAA version is not an indication of how long the registrar has been ICANN accredited. You can view the 2009 RAA at http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/ra-agreement-21may09-en.htm
