Biohacking and pool performance

Well as my 94 year old Dad and his 95 and 96 year old brothers always say everything in moderation the rest is bull****

I might add they all liked a drink, all worked around nasty chemicals and all survived 7 years of WWII

I agree.
I wish people would learn the meaning to the word, "moderation." Everything in life is best taken with moderation. Unfortunately, the human race has a "talent" to f'ing things up with an "all or nothing" attitude.

All things in moderation - even moderation, which means you gotta go crazy once in awhile !

Fascinating interview. Most interesting thing I've seen in a while.

I think Aristotle said it a few hundred years ago, therefore it must be true. Well maybe he got a coupleof things wrong.

My Estonian grandfather was a WWI vet on the Russian side. All I know is that he served in what was special forces at the time. He later survived internment camps in Germany.
When he came to the U.S., he lied about his age so he could work longer to support his family. As far as we know he was 101 when he died.
I spent time with him when he was near the end, and he was sharp as a tack. He had a bad hip, and his vision had deteriorated. I was a young boy and somewhat athletic and his reflexes were faster than mine.
He had vodka in coffee every morning.
I can't say that I know much about his diet, but he was known far and wide for his gardening acumen. I suspect that's where much of his food came from.....

A bit about moderation. What worked for those old timers won't work for you. The food supply has been completely compromised. Our idea of what is healthy is completely compromised.

So eating what they thought was moderation would not be good for us because our wheat and corn supplies are compromised. Our meat is compromised. Eating the same way your parents and grandparents did would not yield the same results.

Also, our idea of what constitutes moderation is completely wrong. We think eating lowfat and throwing in some steak or eggs or bacon once in a while is 'everything in moderation.' In reality that's a very exreme eating plan. Your grandparents and parents ate a LOT more fat than we do now. And it was better fat. They ate less zero nutrition carbohydrates. They also ate almost no soy oil, canola oil or hydrogenated anything. Sugar was sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.

Yes, everything in moderation. Have a martini with your ribeye steak and sweet potatoes. Just make sure you cook your vegetables in bacon grease or olive oil and stay away from the low fat dessert. Instead have real cake made with lard, eggs and sugar. Not soybean oil, processed wheat and high fructose corn syrup.
