This is some of the most highly figured birdseye I have ever seen. I picked this cue up at Derby and have been too lazy to post pics. Just figured I would put it up and let everybody check it out. This is one of the old ones with the big open hole pin.

The first thing that came out of my mouth when it loaded was "OOOOMMMMGGGG!" WHAT A BEAUTY.....!!!

Awesome piece of birdseye and the bonus is that the cue is a jerry franklin southwest. Very nice

Thanks for the replies. I am a sucker for old plain SW's especially ones with wood like this. I don't see many old SW cues with the open hole pin ( I have 2 now) and I can't imagine there are very many out there. If anyone has a SW with this pin design post a pic I would like to see it. I know I have seen some over the years but they don't seem to come up very often.

Thanks,
D

I am not much into plain cues with no points but this cue really isnt plain, thats a gorgeous BEM.:)

Hey Daniel I hope you didn't pay too much for it, since it was used:)

I paid just a little more than you did.

That is a great cue Jim, I'm surprised you parted with it. I didn't have any plans to unload the cue but there is someone here on the board that has really been wanting a cue like this and I let him have a shot at it. It might have a new home soon.

Thanks for posting the receipt.

Daniel

Great looking cue...............................im surprised that you would let it go so quickly

Actually, I think his feet got a little chilly. I made a deal to let a poster buy the cue but if not I will be happy holding on to this beauty for a while.

Any clue on the age? I sold one to G. Breedlove that looked just like it back in the summer of 91 when I was in Dallas. EDIT: Just saw the reciept. Guess mine was it's twin, and he paid 9 bills. The price of poker went up for mine.

Actually that is not the receipt for this particular cue, although this cue is approximately the same age. I have another that is identical to this one except for the wood and when I say identical I mean the thickness of the rings and the pin design. Laurie told me the cue was from approx. 84-85. This could very well be the cue you are referring to.
