Bjorn's 3 Point Bumperless Esoteric - Finished

well let put it this way there's no perfect cue... i
don't like to see another cue maker ripping on another maker i'm sure Rick did the best he could do, if the customer is happy with cue then that's all it matters.. Rick doesn't need other makers downing his work to me that's a kick in the balls....i've seen many flaws over the years in some of the big boy's cues but it is what it is there's no perfect cue there's no such thing.
here's my third attempt at doing miter windows are they perfect not at all are they acceptable??... if the customers happy that's all it matters.

no perfect cue i don't care who made it.

Leon,
I personally think this is a great set of boxed veneers.

Other than the box veneers, the cue looks great.....BUT.....Rick has brought this on himself.....In my opinion. He shouldn't preach how great he is if he cannot perform it. Rick opened the door to this over on the other site...here are his EXACT words..."So it is my prediction that within another very few short years I will be producing work as good as the best people in the world in every detail possible. Why because I have two eyes, am objective and a have will to make anything happen in this world that I set my mind to. That translates to having a bit of vision. Get it a##hole. "
"Oh Lord it's Hard to be Humble, but I am doing the best that I can."

This was aimed at a group of very accomplished makers who would never have box veneers or anything else for that matter, like this get out of their shop and actually be proud of it. He was berating them, so....?? I know I wouldn't release a cue that looked like that on the feature area.... I haven't even tried this yet, and wouldn't release a cue like this, I'd rather burn it and start over.
Leon, honestly, would you let this out? for the money that was paid? Doubt it, if you did, your rep would suffer.
Just my thoughts, as we are all allowed to have....

I saw this coming a mile away....

Life is fun.

About the 3 point.

3 is a result of 1+1. A Father a Mother and a Child. All 3 needs to be for it to "be".
A creation, you insert, you build and you get a result.
It also creates "showing more wood" in the point.
Never done before, - like this.

About the overall look of the cue, must say Great except for the space showing between the veneers.

And I actually take part of that. I saw it in the progress pics and for reasons I will share with Rick I didn´t tell him.

I have seen there is some "bad blood" between a few that has risen to enormous hights, well I guess some hot air have to ventilate. If you try to hold on to anger it will burn like .... and eventually come out. To do this in a positive way you begin to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself - Why do I do this, What are I getting out of this, How is this make me feel in the long run, Have I something else to do that will make me happy, at peace with me and the world etc ?

As far as my relation to Rick it has been and still is great.
I do love to work with him and together we share something that I´m very found of, to learn and improve all the time.
He has showed me that he is willing to do this on several occasions and I´m sure that he will master the Mitered boxes veneers in a very short time:smile:.

Ricks cues imo plays very consistent, solid, great feedback.
His finish can match the best cues that I have ever seen, the finish of the shafts are fantastic - hold up great over time, smooth as silk.
The veneers look great, no glueiness, nice fit and overall very even.

He is willing to try out new things, the extension part (joint) is bought by me and and shipped to him (the same as Longoni but bought from the maker), as a player they are great imo, fastens fast so you can keep the rhythm when playing.

And a big thank you to the one of you that pointed out that I mispelled, I call it Swenglish and I have found out that most English spoken people do understand what I say and write because most of them see the big picture instead of going around looking for things they can find flaws in, patterns are easily seen this way and can also be a very good way to find the reason for the need to do just that - just follow the dots backwards and in the end/beginning of the rainbow you will find gold and with this gold you can change the pattern, - that is if one is willing. It´s very easy though, it begins with a step, a thought a vision 1+1= result.
Freedom of choice.
Mowing on...:p Yikes I did it again, sorry folks it´s spelled with a V.
And no, this wasn´t in this thread.

Both cues Rick came out "98%" and just be greatful that you have another thing to the list of learning, we all have to fall to learn to walk.
And the road to build them has been very fun and rewarding for me to share with you and I hope our friendship will continue and I´m certain that you will find ways to build, design better and better cues.

The design part I will talk to you on the phone, - have some ideas and some "corrections".

Thanks all of you that are participating on this thread,

Best regards

Christian
