just thought you might enjoy a pic of my BB. Im trying to do the rest of the cue . give me some time. the cue has over 300 inlays and is a 6 point

With that many inlays, it should be an awesome piece.
This should be very interesting to see.

Love those 6-pointers,
Myron

Super

WOW

This has to be one of the nicest Black boar cues in existence.
Thanks for posting the pictures for our enjoyment.

that's an awesome cue.. i would prefer it with a nice black elephant ear wrap though. i hate irish linen, but that's just my opinion...

I was wondering where that cue went - Never saw it in person but I do know it was local to Tony's shop and local to me.
That is an awesome example of Tony's work.
Now she needs to get out in full black tie dress - Have to agree needs a black lizard wrap to set it off.

There was a similar cue to this one somewhere on the forum but I could not find it.
Very similar pattern in the windows but the rings, butt and points were slightly different.
If I find it, I will post the link.

Thanks for posting and I hope you enjoy that cue.

Some of the stuff Tony is building now is very techinal and detailed- some of his more complex and detailed newer stuff is selling for 25k+

Craig; You and me have never met. Cuesnthings was Tony's retail dealer for a few years. This Black Boar you comment on was made for me personally, for Cuesnthings. When orginally posted for sale on our web site, it was Tony who priced it for us at $20,000. Maybe you should check with him when commenting publically. I'am not starting a feud, just surprised that you have priced this cue in your mind low, and stating that Tony's cues are now "intricate", this beautiful work I think is also "intricate" as you state.

Tony and me go back many years, and I also think his work and craftmanship are top notch and hard to beat.

Keep Tony busy turning out these great cues. JP:)

Don't get me wrong, I love your cue!
In the asian market ( if they could legally buy ivory cues) it would probably be worth more than 20k, but the US market is depressed right now.

The reason I say 13k -14k is this:

A brand new 8 point cue like yours would cost around 16k-17k of that I'm sure, I know this because the majority of what Tony is making now is just for me.

I believe these 2 things are more desirable in his new cues:
-- the solid crown ivory butt cap and a authentic lizard wrap.

also the microscopic detail in his inlays that he does in some of his most recent cues is harder and more difficult for him to build.

I am not trying to argue, but when I look at my collection of BB's ( 61 BB cues) I can see a progression and change of his detailed inlays.

I have not even had the time to photograph his most recent cues over the last 2 years. But you can see some of his cues from 3+ years ago on my website.

www.blackboarcustomcues.com

I've attached 2 photos-- the complexity of cutting and inlaying fine silver and gold(not wire)is very difficult, not many cuemakers are able to do it .
Also to build a cue with- 8 solid knifed in ivory points( not inlays) is very complex because of how unstable ivory is to work with. To this day Tony says that was the most difficult cue he ever built.
