Black Boar Cue

Would like your advice about purchase price of a Black Boar Cue being offered for sale at the pool hall where I play. It is a plain cue; maple forearm with four ebony points, linen wrap, and ebony butt. Comes with two shafts and looks like new. Has the old logo and is offered for $1500. Is this price reasonable even for a mint cue?

If it really is a BB, and is as described...and if the shafts really are BB shafts - this is a very good price for what would probably be a stellar player. If the shafts are in good shape they could be worth $500+ by themselves.

The older BB cues will sometimes have a "RING" in them...or buzz......check that out or maybe someone will chime in here that knows more about it...I know my older Boar didnt have that ring that alot of people have talked about, so I guess it is hit and miss with the older ones.

I've never heard of the "ring" or "buzz". Hit some balls with it, see how it feels, it's a good price.
:p

Thanks for your replies everyone. If the cue is still available tonight I plan on buying it.
