These are some of the most beautiful cues I have ever seen, I personally think the large BB on the butt detracts from the cue I understand the pride of making something that nice but it just seems it would be better in a different spot and smaller.

i fill that they are perfect the way tony does them..his logo has changed miles from the begining...and i think the fancier his cue have got the new logo suites them well..jmo mickey

Go to his website and drop him an email explaining your thoughts....you never know Tony may just agree with you and that could be the start of a new logo for him....or you may not get an answer lol.

ya never know,

Tony, for all intents and purposes, seems a bit eccentric. In a good way. I just don't know if he'll see it your way. For what it's worth, I think the logo is beautiful, and if I'm not mistaken, he usually inlays it instead of engraving it like most - which only adds to the value.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere.

If I made cues as beautiful as Tony's, that BB would be even bigger to let everyone know who made it.

People in my neck of the woods really value the Black Boar cue brand. There's one local in my area who collects these cues and is hanging onto them.

Tony used to have -- may still -- a cool pool shop where he produced his fine wares. He also has donated Black Boar cues to regional tours, his way of sponsoring pool, and sometimes the recipients were more excited about getting the cue than the almighty win at the tournament. :grin-square:

I've had the honor of sitting on the rail with him a few times. First impression is that he's an extremely intelligent man, but you soon find out his passion for cuemaking is really what makes him tick, aside from a fine cigar, tasty spirits, and good company.

One time he went on to explain to me that my other half had a "double fulcrum" in his stroke, and that another play who had a double fulcrum in his stroke was Efren Reyes.

Now I'm thinking these two guys' strokes are quite different. What, are you kidding me? But then Tony went on to explain what a double fulcrum is, and it goes like this: A good stroke, not a poke, is a stroke that accelerates throught the cue ball. This is accomplished much like a golf swing by bending two places simultaneously during the stroke. For example bending at the shoulder and elbow or, upper arm and wrist, etc. Some pool players from the Philippines offer good examples of a fluid accelerating stroke.

Here's a cute shot I took of Tony with his fine cigar, Keith with his tasty spirits, and Nick Mannino who's always good company. Where is that Nick? I haven't seen him in a long while.

Allen Hopkins has a custom-made Black Boar cue that was made to his specifications and the way he hits 'em. Allen has an unusual stroke himself, kind of a short one-poke stroke.

Tony had made cues for several pro players. He usually sits down with them and watches them hit balls and then determines where to place the balance and other specificiations that suit the player's style of play.

At a Joss tourney held at Drexeline Billiards in Pennsylvania, date subject to check but about 2005-6 era, I snapped a picture of Allen Hopkins' Black Boar. The other cue in the picture is Allen's break cue. I can't remember the name of it, but Allen said he's had this break cue for MANY years. I think it's a Huebler.

Courtesy of Scaramouche, here's a close-up of another Black Boar cue, which has Allen's initials on it. Must be another cue that was made for Allen by Tony. :)

One more close-up of Allen's BB. You can see the BB logo in this shot -- well, kind of.

the old logo with the cow's head in it sucked, the one he has used the past few years "BB" is great, if he builds a real fancy cue one of the B'd is silver and one is gold, if its a 8pt 200 inlay cue both B'd are silver(pure real silver). It possible there is a cue with both B's in 22 ct gold out there somewhere. ;)
