Specs:
Original Boar's Head logo, model AS-3
Four cocobolo points into maple forearm with white and black veneers
Ivory inlays in each point
Cocobolo butt-sleeve with two sets of double white rings
White Delrin butt-cap
Black grained-leather wrap
Ebony with silver ring joint-protectors (4-pc.) made by Steve Kornele
5/16 x 14 piloted Stainless Steel joint with silver ring
Length: 58"
Butt weight: 15.44 oz.
Shaft #1: 4.11 oz. 12.9 mm Ivory ferrule unknown tip (Talisman?)
Shaft #2: 3.94 oz. 12.6 mm LBM ferrule Morri tip
Weight bolt: 0.98 oz. engraved "429"

There are a couple of tiny (1/16") surface scratches in one of the points that do not show in the photos. I got the cue from someone in Singapore about 4 years ago in exactly this condition. It came to me with three shafts but I suspect that only one of them is original, but all are nice, tight-grained shafts and are included. Butt and shafts all roll straight together and apart. Edit: I sold the 12.0 mm shaft locally (not BB) for $150, so am reducing the price by $150.

Price: SOLD shipped overnight express and insured

Ray

Giving up on that beauty - wow!
Wish I could take it off your hands but the timing is just not right (too many cues in the last couple of months).

Good luck with the sale,
Myron

Ray's respected reputation here at AZB probably doesn't need any help from me, but I can state that I've hit some balls with this BB, and found my wallet flat - or I'd own her.

Mike

Thanks Myron, I hate to let it go but it's just sitting in a case in the closet and this cue is a player. Timing has a way of changing quickly, though!

Mike, your wallet wasn't as flat after the last time we played! Thanks for the kind words, sir.

a.m. bumparino....:D Just copied this from the Black Boar website, sounds (to me) like this cue is priced pretty good, even in this market. I wouldn't say it's a 100% cue, but definitely better than 85%, more like 90!

"What's Your Black Boar Cue Worth?

According to mine (Craig) and Tony's best judgment (He having 18 years of experience and I having purchased over 60 Black Boar pool cues), For cues in new/100% condition:

The older Black Boar cues- 4 point cues with the old logo can range any where from 4k to 10k, depending on their rarity.

The 6 point cues with the new BB logo (shown above)feature a variety of joints and mostly leather wraps. Heavy knifed-in hardwood points produce a hit to be reckoned with. These cues can range in value from 7k to 18k.

The newer cues, 8 points with pronged butt caps mark a significant turn in engineering and design. Complete with exotic lizard wraps these cues are most collectible and most desirable. Their value ranges from 13k to, well, the sky's the limit."
