I have one just like it, but with a black leather wrap. I'm pretty sure it's a model RS-2. Value? I'd guess $1800-2100, maybe more in this market with the rarity of BBs. You can go to BB's site and ask for a valuation. http://www.blackboarcustomcues.com/
Hope this helps.

That cue is an AS-3 in cocobola.
It's value is pobably between $3500 to $5000 - this is based on the most recent sales of the 4 point cues. and considering that you have 2 shafts.

But :
-both shafts need to be in like new condition
- the cue needs to be in like new condition
- the shafts are BB and not fakes
- there is a compession fitting between shaft and joint
- the cue does not have any water damage and rolls straight
- that it was NOT refinished by anybody BUT Tony!

Best of luck.
Craig

From my understanding, McDaniels made the blanks on ALL of these models, or was it a combination of Scruggs/McDaniels?

as to the value, i personally don't think these early works should be considered in the "new era" Boar pricing. too many imo want to bulk the old works into the more recent Black Boar windfall phenomenon and i don't get it. they're just not the "same" as the cues Tony has built in more recent years and i would say that's what separates Tony from many makers is his design and workmanship of today much more than in his early work which is the major factor in their "worth". i could be wrong but i would guess this cue to be worth about 2000 to 2750 and ONLY that high because it was made by Tony and some of the attained accolade should be attributed towards the early works just not over-attributed imo.

From what I understand on the Black Boar site, McDaniels made the blanks. Scruggs assembled the cues, made the shafts, and Tony did the inlays along with his son on this early era of BB cues. Kind of an interesting read about their history on the Black Board web page.

Sounds good to me!! :p

You should clear up the question. Whats its worth and what the open market brings are two different things.

You hit the nail on the head! I agree with Skins that this cue is an early BB cue and the value shouldn't be judged on the new cue pricing. I think it's in the low to mid $2000 price range at best.

$1500-$2000 as a REALISTIC sale price. It's basic line model cue. We use to buy/sell these cues under $1000 just 6-7 years ago. Some of the pricing expectations on these things are just getting way too wacky imho.

"wacky" is a good word for it for sure.
