They were always outnumbered by the discolored, chalk grooved, white ones. They're still around in bars.

Many wall cues have had black and/or short ferrules ever since. Preferred the long ones but never noticed any aiming or deflection idiosyncrasies.

Get some white out, paint them like a barber pole w curly white stripe, do some 'shrooms and I guarantee you'll notice aiming discrepancies!!!

Strange. They were on every wall in the 60s/70s. Can't find anything on Google.

Yes, black ferrules were pretty common on house cues in the ’60s and ’70s. About 18 years ago I had Al Romero make this cue and I requested the black ferrules. After he built it, it sat in his shop for a while before I picked it up and said that he had quite a few other requests for black when people saw it. I prefer a black ferrule.
