The Annual Black Friday Tournament formerly at the Yankee Club in York PA will be moving back to 9' Tables. We will be holding the tournament in Cockeysville MD (Just North of 695 off I83) at The Magic 8-Ball Cue Club. We have a great room with a motivated owner / pool enthusiast who is working hard to attract sponsors and to negotiate ADDED MONEY.

Event Features:
  • Live Streaming
  • Good viewing areas to watch matches
  • Very well maintained Gold Crowns
  • Clean and smoke free atmosphere
  • BYOB - bring your cooler and have a few without paying $4 a bottle for domestic
  • Good Food in VERY close proximity to the pool hall, in fact, there is a Pit Beef place right next door that has a dining area IN the pool hall.

Format:
  • 10 Ball races are 7 - 7 (no alcohol sales means the pool hall does not close to we are done)
  • three fouls and Jump are in effect
  • This is a called shot game, any illegally pocketed balls will result in your opponent being able to give you back the table.
  • Safes are permitted, but you can not pocket a ball on a safe or it will be considered an illegally pocketed ball.

Entry Fee:
$50 for EVERYONE no staggered entry ($5 to the green $45 to payout)
ADDED Money is VERY likely but not guaranteed at this point
Minus Green Fees - 100% payout

Address:
22 Church Ln
Cockeysville, Maryland 21030

$500 Added

The owner of the pool hall has just informed me that we have secured $500 added to the prize fund of this event.

Thanks for your Efforts Trevor.

I hope I can make this just to be in the presence of these great shooters such as the ones from the eastern shore

No Cut-off

Is there a cut off on entry's.... should you pay early
There is no cutoff. I will adjust races on a graduating scale in the event we get overloaded.

graduating meaning (shorter races in the opening rounds, graduating to longer races in the mid to end rounds)

The event location is modest in size, but there are plenty of local (right out the front door) places to eat or grab a drink. If things get to tight, we will provide texting service to make sure you get a good heads up that your match is about to start.

The establishment is BYOB as well so bring your coolers.

I find that it is next to impossible to get people top prepay unless you are Allen Hopkins so I gave that up awhile ago.

Updates

It has been confirmed. We have two new sponsors to help make this event a huge success:

Mezz Cues will be donating apparel and gear as well as:
THIS WILL BE AN OFFICIAL MEZZ PROAM TOUR STOP. If you are on the tour you will accumulate points for this event, if you are not on the tour, you will NOT be charged the membership fee to play.

STAKD Clothing will also be donating apparel to this event.

That's great, Jose is a good guy, I will be there and a few others from the shore unless something very unexpected happens.

One week away

One week away players:

Trevor is polishing the balls, recovering some of the tables, and getting a fresh level on them as well.

I was just over there this week scoping the place out for the electronic bracket posted on the TV monitor, and where we are going to live stream from. The room is in magnificent shape and the tables are playing GREAT.

You dont want to miss this 10 Ball Event. The owner has put alot of effort into making this a first class venue for professional level pool.

See you all Next Friday!!!!!

Can't Wait

Dave Beegle and I will be driving from Frederick to play. See you all there!

Results and Thank yous

So another Black Friday Marathon is in the books and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Everyone for coming. Special thanks to Trevor Dentz who really put alot of cash behind this event to make the playing conditions, atmosphere and payouts nothing short of excellent. Trevor is a new pool room owner in the Cockeysville Md area and I am proud of the way the players at this tournament "showed up" and played some world class pool and conducted themselves with the utmost class. Given the players who came, I was not surprised.

I also wanted to thank, Mike Davis, Brett Stottlemyer, Matt Krah and Shaun Wilkie for allowing us to advertise with their image on the flier. Your games are well respected which is why your image has value. I appreciate that contribution with no request for compensation.

So without further delay, here is are the results:
1st - 2nd - Karen Corr and Brandon Shuff (Split)
3rd - Mike Davis
4th Chuck Roth
5th - 6th Tom Zippler
TJ Moore
7-8th Dave Beagle
Trevor Dentz
9-12th
Steve Lingafelter
Tony Long
Brett Stottlemyer
Matt Krah
