Black Widow Billiards DVD

How can you go wrong? Two CD's of Jeanette playing pool are worth $20. Anything else extra you get out of it will more than cover the other $10 + shipping.

All kidding a side, she has taken lessons from some of the best in the business, including her husband George Breedlove. So the CD's are probably worth it. Johnnyt

Hi, has anyone watch "Black Widow Billiards" by Jeanette Lee?
Care to review some?
Thx

Q,
I will have to admit being biased (since I was fortunate to be asked to appear on the DVD), but I think it is by far the best DVD I have ever seen for beginning players.

The Expert Insight team (noted for their SUPERIOR golf and poker instructional DVD's) has done a great job using modern AV techniques to help the beginning player understand the basics. There has really been nothing like it available until now.

Jeanette and Jerry Briesath (Jerry was closely involved in the project, and does appear on the DVD) use the standard BCA program of instruction; and the DVD will help any beginner immensely. It is absolutely required viewing for any new player that I work with.

The DVD is definitely targeted for the beginning/intermediate player; and will be mass-marketed at the Walmart/K-Mart type of store. I can only hope that the EI crew thinks there is enough of a market for even more advanced DVD's - because their advanced poker and golf DVD's are truly astounding. I'm not sure there is enough interest to warrant it in pool; but such an advanced DVD would be a truly novel learning tool for pool; and something the real pool fanatics could learn from and enjoy.

Hmm, I would have thought that "The Silence of The Lambs" would be more appropriate ;-)

This is very cool, I look forward to being able to see that. There needs to be something in the mass market that retailers will actually stock, you can find DVD/Videos on most sports like golf, tennis, football etc. so why not Pool?

Riiiiight. Somehow, I'm not holding my breath waiting to see Jeanette Lee endcaps at my local big box store.

Not to hijack this thread, but for the record, there is another high quality AV instructional video series out there. Randyg and I are the featured instructors on "Play Better Pool", produced by the guys at Sport Videos (www.sportvideos.com), out of Tucson, AZ. Vol. 1 & 2 are each about 2 hours long, and provide some great new information, not available on other instructional dvds. It is geared to all ability players.:D

got a copy of the dvd free due to my BD subscription. the dvd's are really geared to the beginning player. that being said there are a few nuggets to be gleaned, seeing jl shoot pool is always cool and for $20 (or im my case for free) its well worth it to watch her kick betmore's butt ( sorry man, just kidding :) )

Black Widow Dvd

As in everything Ms. Lee does, this is well done and informative. I have just given a neighbor the dvd as she is beginning her pool career.

Great job Jeanette

This DVD sounds like a good investment for someone starting out in pool.

J,
Very much so. It is the kind of thing they should be giving out with every pool table sold. It has something that most other video's sorely lack - PRODUCTION VALUES. It is done using the most modern video techniques; it should definitely keep the interest of the beginning and intermediate players.

There are many intermediate players that can benefit from this DVD - a new dedication to fundamentals is something that has turned around the game of many a player.

Wow... thx for all the reply. I think I'm gonna order one :).
@williebetmore
I totally agree bout the "new dedication to fundamentals thing"
